hi, my friends have got a compacks dvd 800 dvd player and have just got the mork and mindy dvd box set. Only problem is that its region 1 and the dvd player is region 2.

I have had a look on google and instructed them on the phone but the two methods i gave them didnt work .
Does anyone know for sure how to unlock this thing?

Also, the links which have been provided on other sites seem to be dead which is a shame because they probably tell you in detail how to do it

Try videohelp.com.
Its says something about the dvd bought from woolworths,the hack wont work.
Look down the left hand side for dvd hacks,then enter the make and model number.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, i found this:

There are two versions of the software for the DVD 800. The previous hack doesn't work for the model I bought from Woolworths.
This one did:
Open tray
Press setup on remote
Press vol- and vol+ alternately a number of times until the number 2 appears
Use the arrow keys to change that 2 to 255
Press enter
Press setup
Done

Confused? Then go to
http://www.wwrs.compacks.com/Webindex.htm
Find the DVD 800 and follow the pictures.

the really annoying think is that that compacks site doesnt work, i wonder why?

The remote on my Compacks 6972 DVD player failed so I bought a universal remote from Amazon. Problem is there is no code for Compacks in the instructions and I can't even find a website for them

Can anyone help with the program code please ???
