Homechoice & Guide Plus +

I have just bought a DVD Recorder with Hard Drive, and am trying to set it up with my Homechoice service.

Just seeing if anyone else has been able to set up the Guide Plus + facility with the Homechoice box? The cable option only give ntl and telewest, and I have no idea what brand the box was (nor did technical help)

what inputs does your recorder have?what make of dvd recorder? if it is anything like basics all you need to do is put a scart lead (all pins connected) from the black scart socket on the stb switch your recorder to av1 or such depending where you have plugged the scart to and select the channel on the stb and away you go

I think robbysgirl has probably got that far.

The question asked is can the box be controlled by a DVD/HDD recorder for timed recordings.

The answer is a "probably not" - Homechoice's box is their own technology so the far east manufacturers wont have codes for it. The only reason TiVo does is because their service is software based and some technically minded souls were able to work out the codes and inform TiVo in the US.

Have got a bit further...apparently the Homechoice box is manufactured by a company called 'Norton'. Have rung the Philips support and am trying a few other things so will report back when I have...

norton is the name given to the box and most definately is not the manufacturer.
