6230i and push to talk

Hi all - Got my 6230i today, and was just wandering, whats this push to talk thing, what exactly does it do? and also where can i get the uk settings as they aren't on the Nokia site.

No UK network currently supports PPT.

Basically using your mobile as a walky talky. I doubt it will be free if it ever comes here, very popular in the States apparantly.

You need to be on contract. Orange did it with the Palm driven Treo 600 on business tariff.

I'm on contract, but still not uk compatible yet - still - any ideas when its available?

I'd be suprised if we ever got it over here. Americans tend to use it like we'd use SMS. Speaking to my yank mates, they think we're mad, huddled ver little handset typing in little messages.....

We do have it over here. Orange do it on Business Tariff.

yeah i understand this - was just wandering when / IF it became widely available over more networks - in my location orange never was very good so thats a definite no.
