Getting a contract at 18
Hi everybody.
I was 18 a couple of weeks ago ( ) and have decided I want to move from pay-as-you go to contract. I'm spending at least £20 a month on phone credit at the moment and I'm convinced it will be cheaper for me if I change, plus the phone I've got at the moment is reaching the end of its useful life. What I want to know is: what is the likelyhood of me getting approved for a contract? I've got a part-time job with monthly income over £200 and currently no fixed outgoings (no rent, bills etc) so paying wouldn't be a problem but I guess I have no credit history so will any of the networks go anywhere near me? I've been with Vodafone PAYG for 5 years so would it be wise to contact them and see if they will offer me anything? |

It was the other way round for my first contract, no problems with Vodafone, O2 really didn't want to know. That was a few years ago though.Just to add, the network you go with might want you to put an initial deposit down or £50 or £100 which they will return to you after about 6 months |

DS full of two type of three customers;
1) Those who bought NEC, LG or other Budget Handsets usually over a year ago & had a Nightmare 2) Those with the Motorola 1000 series or, even better, the Nokia 66xx Series, who have had no problems whatsoever. What you DO need to know about Three is that there is no complete access to the web at present - so if you surf using your handset you may want to reconsider. I've been a 3 customer for over 2 years now and I've seen them come on in leaps & bounds and have signed up at least 10 of my friends - each thanking me for the huge amount of money they save each month. Just like every mobile provider, three have a trial period where for a week or two you can find out for yourself how good they are. If you're not happy, you can hand the phone back and you'll have lost nothing. However, in realtion to the original poster, if you were wanting to pay less than £20 a month, I'd recommend another network as they tend to have better deals for 'low users'. |

I ordered my 6630 from carphonewarehouse on 3 last month and i am extremely impressed. Both the phone and the network. Ported my number over very easily without any problems and they phoned me a couple of times to check that i was satisfied with evrything.
Unlike most companies, CPW also send me a detailed letter and booklet explaining the cashback and how to claim it, making it very easy. 3 of my friends have also now joined the contract because it is soo good. One of my friends had a slight problem with the back cover on the phone (nokias fault), and phoned CPW up. They sent him another brand new one the next day. Very impressive. Anyway, here is the url of the deal: http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/com...n=SPECIALOFFER Free Nokia 6630 9 months free via cashback (12 month contract) 3 Talk & Text 600 (500 x-net mins, 100 txts) £30 a month for the last 3 months So basically you are getting a free nokia 6630 and the contract will only cost you £90 over the whole 12 month contract (you can sell the phone alone for more than that!) I highly recommend it to everybody! The 6630 is fantastic! |
