New Emmerdale Opening Intro
What does everyone think of the new Emmerdale opening? I think it looks really good and a lot more modern. I'm glad that the have finally got rid of "those people!"
I also feel that it is long overdue considering that we've had the previous opening since 1998! The camera could perhaps have been speeded up a bit, as it looks a bit slow. But it's certainly a vast improvement - the previous one was starting to look a quite dated. I also like the way we see more of the surrounding countryside, and the tractor reminds me of older Emmerdale openings. It's a shame that they couldn't have put in a bit more action though, instead of just the countryside. I liked the mid-90's intro with the mountain bike, glider etc. |

gone are the days of the brocolli opening
. i did like the new titles, its not exaclty a million miles away fromthe old ones, we just don't have to put up with the woman being slapped at the begining.Personally i think the new titles were done to mark a new era for Emmerdale, as it goes on to to challange EastEnders in the ratings war. If last nights episode is anything to go by, i think Emmerdale will give EastEnders a right good old thrashing from now on. |

I love them. They look great - really modern and fresh. The old ones were very dated. I agree though that the camera could have been speeded up a bit more though.

I think some shots are the same as before minus the random people, but they are much better as a whole. It's just the camera needs speeding up.

i quite like the new opening sequence in emmerdale i think what they have done is that when they had the plane crash the titles got changed that was the beginning of the tates. So now zoe is leaving and sold home farnm to the kings they have put new titles to signify the era of the kings.what does other people think.

I like the new titles, they remind me of the 1980s/1990s titles though.

I still miss the running/jumping lambs form the superb 90's titles, but I do like the new ones. It looks slightly more epic, and takes in a lot more of the surrounding area then the old "strange people" ones... nicely updated!

I have worked in TV all my life and the Emmerdale opening title sequence a complete refreshing change, well done Granada, they actually listened to the crews for a change.

how come emmerdale can have a moving background but corrie not??? Corrie is ITV's biggest show and it has that crappy blue background for its ending credits. I don't know of Corrie is getting an update though, i would like to see one but i doubt it is happening anytime soon. |

I honestly think Corrie's have terrible opening credits, but I blame the themetune. I know it would be tricky to change, but I can't stand it. It's so slow and depressing and limits what you can do...of course it's Corrie's trademark, but it does bug me.
And didn't Corrie used to have one of the back alleys as the background for its closing credits? Not sure why they got rid of that
