Were BB Wrong to select Jade?
spencer_g

I've noticed that in other threads people have been questioning BB's decision in letting Jade into the house. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like her, she is quite literally a child in an adults body. Maybe they foresaw that her child-like dimeanour would cause the arguments that have occured? I woudl have thought that each contestant had to go through extensive psychological analysis..she is clearly not mentally strong enough to cope with being on BB.

Interesting thread.........
were they hoping for a helen 2??????
they will look back in retrospect though and believe her to be good for ratings...................I however will not watch in final week at all if she is still there!

I think she is a lot tougher than she looks. She probably thinks she was chosen as this years Helen, which is why she's playing up the stupid angle, she probably thinks it looks cute. She was probably chosen as the anti-Helen, the dumb blonde with no redeeming features.

Probably.

i refer you to my thread, about 23 pages long now 'Jade goody... ' , all the answers to life, the universe, and out dear 'missy' are there somewhere..

Seriously, in short, jade was Chosen by the Show, She didnt get in by chance, she was carefully selected for the very reason that we cant stand her.

Jade : one hell of a selection committee chose her. I'd love to talk to them all, ask them are they surprised at how she has been .

Dead right, although i would imagine they would be a lttle suprised at how well she is playing their game for them. Hate to say it but hersefl and adele do make compulsive viewing becasue it is so pleasurable to hate them

Exactly. Adele and jade are so awful, they have both been so nasty to sophie, you just cant not watch it !
The show has got us passionate, they have succeded.

Two ways to hook people in. Sex, and hate. Forget the first, we aint gonna see that on our UK screens. This leaves the love to hate characters, which we have been provided with.
However, i really think jade has been way above any of their hopes. The way she has chosen to play an extremely odd baby role in those, has made it all very disturbing to 'mature people' - makes for totally obsessive viewing.

yep, good point. they wanted ppl that would get a reaction and judging by this forum she was a perfect choice.

Tim too, thrown in to stir things up.

I mean if there had been 12 Sophies the programme would have been decommissioned for lack of viewers.

Babe (arghhh Sophieism) admit that you WERE right.

but

in recent day they have crossed the line from entertaining to .... ****** ........ (hell! me lost for words - it's the jade effect).

you know what i mean and i figure you agree.

i think it is possible to make bb interesting without the likes of the evil axis. Hitler only made europe interesting for a short while after 1933 therafter..............

see father jack's post about bb4 - that'd be unlikely, but it's a crackning idea all the same.

Yeah I agree with you all. She's been the thing (yes, she is a thing) that's given a sense of danger to the house.

The original question;
It depends on how it all ends. Channel 4 or Endemol have been either very clever or very stupid.

If she truly ends up on a psychiatric ward, Channel 4 are in some serious trouble, whether she knew what she was walking into or not.

They must be in an absolute panic as to what they'll do when the time comes for her to leave.

She would be the last person l would put in this type of enviroment.

Do the producers have a duty of care to her, (or any other HMs), if there are psychological implications resulting from their stay in the house, or is that something that is "signed away" in the contracts?

I was wondering that last night as I lay in bed - how sad is that?

I (and several other forum members) actually e-mailed the resident BB psychologist asking exactly these Qs

I don't think anyone got an answer

Thank you.

Interesting that they have chosen not to answer. I wonder if that is indicative of their concerns?

I am sure it is.
They presumably have had communications from other people as well, because they seem to be aware of the public's concern, hence the glossing over of things asked them on such as BBLB re: Jades behaviour and the issues surrounding alcohol.

Jade and her minging mum will probably make a lot of money (in their terms) by suing the BB producers for psychological trauma and post-traumatic stress the moment she leaves the house and is greeted by the booing and oinking.

In fact I can see Jade starring in one of those Claims Direct adverts which they show on Channel 5 in the early afternoon: "This is Jade ... she looks like a pig ... Thanks to Claims Direct she now has enough money to start a new life ... in East Angular."

According to the psychologist on BBLB, Jade IS intelliegent enough to be playing a game... ie she is laying it on deliberately thicker than needs be. Hmmmmm.... maybe that is so - she uses it for attention. I'd prefer to think that she was so stupid that she was virtually innocent of all her house misdemeanours. Clearly not. So she really is just a scheming *** after all.

Did you hear her last night speaking with PJ and TIm, saying that she gets men coming up to her saying how good looking she is, wtf?

i've emailed the bb editor about this among other things. i've yet to receive an answer.

if bb are looking for a breakdown in the house or at eviction it's repugnant - jades a prime candidate.

penny last year came close - did bb pay for the clinic she entered????

have bb already booked jades bed at the 'Priory'???

will this be a spin-off show????

noone (no matter how dislikable) deserves this in the name of gamesmanship. she may be part of the evil axis but she still deserves better than the lack of support which is likely.

she's unlikely to get it from her mum as she seems to be a selfish attention seeker herself. she has already been less than supportive of jade in the press claiming that it is true that she is only acting dumb!!!! this may be true but you don't expect your own mother to make comments like this!!! i know mine would'nt!!!!

i think bb is underestimating the viewers tolerance for sensationalism and that which is wrong (they let adele away with emotianal murder thinking we will find it entertaining). the line was crossed this week and bb should look at the responses they are receiving to adele and realise that most viewers still have a conscience which they don't suspend when watching reality tv.

Deerd
actually worried for jade!

p.s a breakdown is no fun/not entertaining - i should know (prepared to put myself out there on jade's behalf).

Morning Deerd!! (fellow 30 a day girl)

Agree with you 100%
Also I cannot believe Jades mum.

I have a 17 yr old daughter who professes (as she does about many things!!) that she would like to apply for BB. Although she is a hard nut (in a different way to Jade) and could probably cope, if I saw her having difficulties of any sort I would be in there to get her out straight away, contracts or no contracts, whatever age she was. I certainly would not be fuelling the fires to her mentalbreakdown.
She applies for BB over my dead body
