Im looking to use msn on this phone but all the apps i have found are ones you have to buy but i would like a free piece of software or the settings??

You could try the java-based MSN chat at http://www.msn2go.com, runs in your browser.
Try it on a PC browser first though in order to get the idea (saves GPRS/3G costs) |
