Yes, I'd like to see Harry back And Hilda back would be great too I personally would axe Charlie Stubbs though as I feel that this character now has very little room to manoeuvre!!

all should be saved apart from : Kelly Crabtree, Claire Peacock, Bev Unwin, Yana, Diggory Compton - I don't dislike any of these, well maybe Bev, but I think they should be got rid of to improve Corrie.

I disagree. There needs to be the biggest clear out if there ever was one, half the cast need axing. Coronation Street bosses made a rod for their own backs by increasing the episodes from 2 to 3 then 3 to 4 then eventually introducing a fifth weekly episode. The reason the cast is so big with 60 or so members is because they need a big cast to deal with a 5 times a week workload as otherwise if there were only 30 or so cast members the workload would be totally horrendous. People would collapse through stress of work.

The solution to the problems with Coronation Street are half the cast and half the episodes as otherwise it will sink below sea level.

It has nothing to do with the bosses how many episodes go out, it's ITV who demand the extra episodes and its the corrie bosses who basically have to do what they're told. Don't you think they would much rather do 2-3 eps a week, it would make life much easier for the cast and the crew, but until ITV realise that it's not all about quantity, nothings going to change with the number of episodes.

Your right I apologise for that. It is ITV's decision how many times a week to have a programme on the air.

You do agree though that the cast is far too big and needs to be split in half along with the episodes been reduced from five a week to three.

Get rid of Cilla, Les, Chesney, the twins, Dev, Tracy, Clare, Ashley, Bev, Charlie, maybe Shelly..see if shes capable of comedy again because she just proved she cant do dramatic but was good when she first came on, that emmerdale reject (cant remember her name) and her dad, then we would have the perfect cast !

Your right it probably won't happen but it should happen because it is the only solution to the problem. Until they split the cast in half and reduce the episodes from five a week to three they will always have problems no matter what.

Oh absolutely, I would much rather Corrie went out 3 times a week, and the cast was much smaller, so that we could get to know the characters better.

I agree. With this large of a cast, you kind of get attached to the characters and you think of reasonable ways to write certain people of but there่s so much going on and there is a certain need for them, if you can understand what I am saying.

Tis true, thats why he couldnt remember the word "drink" the other day.

A horrible illness which i have no doubt Corrie will handle supearbly, its just sad that Mike is leaving this way.

Also Jack and Vera are leaving at some stage and the rumour is...

Spoiler

If its true it will easily be the best happy exit in soap history and Corrie isnt even my fave soap.

As long as Jason Violet Eileen and Sean stay i'm happy! I really want the Platts to leave there pointless boring characters, and i can't stand Sarah.

Should go:

Diggory Compton
Molly Compton
Penny King
Scooter

All the rest can stay.

I very very very much doubt they get rid of Ken, Deirdre, Emily, Rita, Betty, Gail, Audrey, Blanche, Vera, Jack or, even though he's developing alzheimers, Mike (They've never actually confirmed his exit, it's only a rumour)

I also don't think the McDonalds, Websters and Platts are going anytime soon.

Vera and Jack aren't going anywhere, they signed on for at least another year.

I am glad Jack and Vera Duckworth have signed on for another year. If Jack and Vera ever got axed there would be world war three from certain fans. I should imagine some idiot would start a full scale riot outside Granada Studios.

As a matter of interest how long have you been watching Coronation Street?

That doesn't really narrow it down though, the amount of people who Sally has had an affair with
