I suppose you do have to put up with Father Dougal all day

We can put up with a lot - I certainly do, but there has to come a point where too much unwarranted abuse is being hurled at one person. I've seen all these threads about how are they going to get Jade out of the house without her being booed/pelted/etc... Is that not blatant cruelty - I can't believe there are "people" out there who think that that is a fun way to spend their time - it's sick.
”

If they read all this stuff, then that would be THEIR choice, no-one is making them read it. Also, and more importantly, they are TOLD to expect abuse of exactly this nature when they enrol for BB, and they ACCEPT it. They have CONSENTED to whatever publicity they get (good or bad() and therefore should be prepared for it. If not, they should not have voluntered.

Whilst I agree that the "jade is a pig" type of thread is uncalled for (and I have always been against it*), it is only the sort of comment that any person in the public eye has to put up with (eg "posh" spice, Mr D Beckham etc) and I don't see why some people on a trivial tv show should deserve any better treatment.

Jack

*disclaimer:
sometimes if pissed and pissed off I MIGHT have said realy rude things about Jade. If I did she deserved them

It doesn't matter how much in the public eye you are, you still are entitled to the right of having the truth written about you. Unproven facts and downright lies are morally wrong. As I've asked before, and nobody seems to have answered, would you like it if untruths were written about you on this forum? Just a simple yes/no answer.

The HM's are people with feelings as well. I know we're unlikely ever to meet them, but if you met Jade in the street would you go up and say "you're a f***ing ugly pig" like some of the posters in here have said?

Do unto others as you would want done unto you. It's one of the golden rules of life.

The thing is, they won't know the posts are nasty until they read them, no-one knows what sites the hm's use, how do we know that none of them are actually members of this forum who may fell like catching up when they come home, only to find page after page of insults about them
”

Now this is an interesting thought ex-HMs lurking on the forums
"watching" us watching them "I wunderer what'll they'll think of uss lyke" ( sorry, difficult to do Jonnie in QWERTY)

I seriously doubt the HM are going to come trawling the BB forums for nasty posts after they've finished in the house.”

Well, PJ, for one, has talked about how he's very interested to see how he was represented (in for a bit of a shock I imagine).

Generally, the HMs who didn't go into the house to gain media careers will probably be the best off. Some of the HMs who have a stronger sense of themselves (like Sandy and Alex) will just shrug it off.

Some HMs might actually learn something from watching the feeds. Like I hope Lynn realizes she has a drinking problem; I think PJ might well think about why he came off so poorly; and Kate might start thinking about not living so much to curry men's favor.

Overall, though, if anything cured me of ever wanting to be in the house, it's this season - a grim display of life as schoolyard torment.

Tony, you're preaching to the converted I'm afraid.
I've always said that some of the more infantile comments by some people are out of order. So to answer your question: *i* would NOT say such things.
However, the HMs would be naive beyond belief to not expect some comments etc.

Why are you picking on this forum to do your preaching, why aren't you out there talking to so-called football fans etc who perpetrate far worse things than any of us on the forums will EVER do?

Jack
annoyed at being accused.

The answer to your question (LIking untruths told on this forum) is NO.
But I'd be mind-meltingly stupid if I thought everyone was going to say what a wonderfully sexy and intelligent chap I am. Espesh if I'd appeared on national telly having sex with everyone etc.

Come to think of it, someone DID call me stupid (?) or something similar. It's all part of life's rich tapestry I'm afraid.

Jack
not stupid.

My comments weren't aimed at you - sorry, if they seemed that way.

Working as a steward at a Nationwide Football League Club I do have to deal with such things, and generally if someone is making abusive or offensive remarks they get a warning and then they can be removed from the ground - it's never got to that stage.
Also, if people think they can get away with it here, some of them will think they can get away with it anywhere.
This whole 'hatred' thing against people you don't know should really be nipped in the bud when you're young. There is no need for animosity against anyone - especially if they have done nothing wrong.

If you were a contestant on Big Brother, how do you think you would cope with coming out into real life, and how would react if you ventured into here and found the stuff that had been written about you? ”

Sandy seems to have the right idea; he is back to work and is getting on with his life. Far too many people come out and expect to be stars that are generally "has-beens" by the end of the year.

Think now that BB is into its third series most housemates should realise that ex-housemates have failed in the past and be cautious of any offers from media/record companies etc.

I think and hope I would take the Sandy approach to it.

Probably not very much if they were reading some of the stuff written on here

there are so many threads on here moaning about people in the house being bitchy and nasty but their bitchiness is nothing compared to the abuse and nastiness that i have read on this forum.
