Hi, i really want to get this to work on my mob, its a nokia 3410.

I went into settings, phone settings and switched on cell info display, all i have is on and off.

I had a look in messages and went down to info service, in there i have on, off, topic index, topics and language.
I assume i need to add a topic but i want to make sure i do it right, because when i have topic index on i cannot make calls (well not 1471 anyway)

can i dial 200, or wont that do anything?

thanks

Yes - and it has three others -

Mine is 01322.

I get:

020,01322,01708,01474 - note no comma between the codes, as there should be.

Are you on O2 or Vodafone? These 2 are the ones that support it.

With Cell info display on you add a topic I presume, just enter in 200 and it should work, try turning the phone on and off if it doesn't straight away.

hmm, still doesn't want to work i also tried just dialing 200 and i get a loud tone for about eight seconds followed by a message on screen saying error in connection.

Could it not be working because i dont have data handling or whatever its called on my sim (the thing that lets you go on gprs)

thanks for all your help

For cell broadcasts that aren't on page 50, different phones have different ways of handling them. Old Nokias I had treated any change as something like a new text message. The Sagem I have right now gives the O2 page 200 details at the bottom of the main screen.

In rural areas, it's quite often possible to tell what cell you are logged on to through the combination of area codes given and compare it to its webmap service, though I'm not sure that still exists.

Just tried on my Nokia 6820 & it worked, I was quite surprised as I only thought Vodafone had this facility (I'm on o2).

This only works with Vodafone and very rarely with O2.

And sometimes it's wrong, The display sometimes shows '0181' for London when it should be '0208'

01 81 811 81 81!

That's going back a few years! I think Schoffield may even have had dark hair then.

How hot did Sarah Green used to be?

Are there any other codes that can be entered to show any other information?
