I am really impressed with Kate. She went to the diary room to have her cry, (she must have been choking with temper on Saturday night) Not one of the other's would have reacted the way she did.She just gets on with thing's on the poor side,as much as she hate's it

I agree London! Although I have liked Kate from the beginning, I have really warmed to her since she moved over to the poor side. She doesn't moan like some of the others do, she just gets on with it, and she hasn't been babyish about Alex picking her, not like PJ who had a go at Alex when he chose Sophie to be on the rich side last week. And I feel sorry for her because after being nice about it, Alex still chose PJ to be on the rich side but not Kate. She should win!

Jonny and Kate seem to think that Alex is their arch-nemesis with some devious master plan.

The reality is that Alex is Frank Spencer, and is more bothered that everyone doesn't pick on him again.

The funny thing is that Jonny and Kate are winding themselves up about Alex, Alex isn't even trying.

He said Jade should have offered her place for Kate to go instead of her.
How can that happen? Fact is, Alex picked Jade(whether you like her or not). End of story. You can't decide against the picker, it's their priveledge.
If Jade did swap her place with Kate, how fair is that to everyone else.
Surely you're not manipulating people to think that Jade was wrong to join Alex after fairly being picked are you Jonny?

Alex has become Kate's arch nemesis. Listen to any of Kate's conversations with the other housemates and you're guaranteed to hear Alex's name coming up within 5 minutes. Makes you wonder if Alex was evicted, Kate would have nothing to talk and obsess about anymore.

The worse thing is I don't think Alex even considers Kate an enemy. In fact he doesn't even consider her at all! I don't think I've ever heard Alex talk about Kate. It's almost like he's thinking "Okay ... I don't like Kate ... we don't get along ... so I'll just avoid anything to do with her"

True ... Alex did spy on Kate's arse in the outdoor shower the other day. But he doesn't like Kate's personality. I'm sure he's got nothing against her arse!

Hmmm....why can't it be both? As London said and as I have said in previous posts, Kate was suffereing from PMT. Obviously, as I've also said before, you don't understand what it is like or the symptoms of it. PMT is bad at the best of times, add on top of this being away from family and friends, being stuck in one place with people you hardly know and living like a pauper and it all gets on top of you. I'm with London on this one.

I thikn Kate has shown that she can cope under any curcumstances ... I have never been a fan of hers but over the last two weeks , I feel that she has just got on with stuff .

SHe has lost the two people in the house she is closest to , she has been on the poor side for two weeks and she is suffering PMT .. I think anyone would be tested to the limit by those things . And would feel like taking it out on something .

She has not got the bitching charecter that the rich housemates have , I have seen her try to join in chats with them over the divide and been ignored but she still trys , yesterday she was even talking nicely to Alex .

I would love to see her get further be great to have her in there after macbeths witches have gone , i think she deserves it .

I did have some sympathy for Kate when she pointed out the bullying of Psophie in the diary room. However, more brownie points would have been earned had she had the courage to stand up to the ghastly Jade in public.

I think that her problem is that her initial strategy has failed miserably. At the start of BB3, she formed the in-crowd with Jonny, Alison and to a lesser extent Spencer. Alison was given the heave-ho fairly quickly, Spencer is now out and all of a sudden, she, Jonny and Psoph are very much the house outsiders (don't forget that for a very long time, Alex was definitely the house pariah, with only Sandy and Adele giving him the time of day). The tables are turned: the core of the house now revolves around Jade and Adele who are each in their own way manipulating (ie bullying) others who appear to be to weak to want to break away: they are probably scared of one of them bearing the brunt of the mickey-taking, and are therefore happy to indulge in the crass victimization of Psoph.

Kate has therefore had to adjust to no longer being the centre of attention; this has brought out the more simpatico side of her we have seen in the last week or so.

(NB: in spite of all of the above, I am not an Endemol-funded "expert" at pointing out the bleeding obvious on a Sunday night; however, should any TV execs wish to employ me, I am cheap, telegenic and eager to please.)

I agree, Kate has really blossomed over the past couple of weeks. At first I was indifferent to her, even a bit irritated at times, but now I think she's showing herself to be the most sincere person in the house.
She could easily have ranted and raved about Alex not picking her for the rich side this week (a la PJ and Spencer) or could have turned on the waterworks (Jade), but instead just got on with things.
When she did get weepy, she went into the diary room to let off steam rather than do it infront of everyone else (the sunglasses moment was a combination of PMT and all the shitty things she's had to put up with lately....and even then she tried to cover it up by taking the micky out of herself for crying over a pair of sunglasses).
She's taken Sophie under her wing and has seen through Jade (and maybe Adele too).

The rich housemates have been completely unbearable this week, especially when they're constantly talking about food infront of the others, and last night singing when their shopping arrived. I just wish the poor housemates would be a bit more open with each other about who they're talking about sometimes. Its very admirable that Sophie and Jonny don't want to name names when they're talking about the nastiness of certain rich housemates, but if they did they could really stir things up and perhaps then "collecively" vote for certain people. I know its against the rules, but that's what the other side have been doing for the past 2 weeks and if something doesn't change soon, then all of the poor side will be picked off one by one. Jonny wasted a vote on Tim, if they had talked about things a bit more openly, I'm sure he would've opted for Jade instead.
And although I never thought I'd say it, I don't really want to see the bars come down. The two groups have already been formed (PJ and Tim could be floating voters!) and if they all have to live together again the bitches really could make life unbearable for Kate and Jonny/Sophie.

Great thread! I didn't like Kate much to start with, too shallow/silly I thought but I'm very happy to admit I was wrong... (Make the most of it, doesn't happen often!) I'd love to see her in the last 3 with Jonny. Don't know who else, am right off Alex at the mo. Those two have been so kind to Sophie they deserve great kudos for that. I also think that the Jonny/Kate combo are the only ones who have any hope of rupturing the axis of evil on the rich side, especially when (if?) the bars come down.

The problem is, Jonny and Kate really need to get someone else on side, otherwise the Jade/Adele/Alex combo will just nominate both next week and I think three nominations will be enough.

This is starting to be more like Survivor and having to make "alliances", but Jonny/Sophie and Kate need to have more strength in numbers. Tim or PJ seem to be the only options, but PJ won't vote for Jade, and Tim doesn't like Jonny or Sophie.
I fear it'll be Jonny (or Sophie) up against Kate next week.....unless they're a bit more open with each other about Jade and Adele. Jonny has found out about Adele from PJ, but unless he tells Kate, I think she's none the wiser. Likewise Jonny with Jade.
