Before Kate's beautification over her sympathy for Sophie begins, please remember that Kate started Sophie's bullying.

When Sophie first arrived, Kate immediately called a conference with Jade and Allison and encouraged them to be negative about Sophie's body. If Jade now makes offensive comments, it's because Kate authorized them in the first instance.

When Sophie tried to comfort Kate after Spencer left, by likening Kate's plight to her own, Kate then trashed Sophie to the other girls by saying that Sophie's "two week thing" with Lee couldn't be compared to what Kate had with Spencer (clearly a 3 week thing is evidence of a more meaningful relationship). But while Sophie continues to pine for Lee, Spencer is yesterday's news for Kate.

It's horrible what Sophie has had to put up with, but the initial responsibility for this nastiness lies at Kate's doorstep.

I wouldn't go that far Desktop, but she's certainly no saint. I didn't think Jade or Adele needed any prodding to slag off Sophie. Kate has been separated from that pair for two and a half weeks, and crucially in the week of Tim's arrival who's flat rejection of Sophie sanctioned the open bitching.


However, the C4 edits of Kate's so-called stoicism on the poor side contradict her rants in the poor bedroom. That tush is working wonders for her.

When Kate was talking to Jade about Sophie's body she was actually very complimentary, it was Jade who was immediately bitchy and even started saying that Sophie wasn't a patch on Kate (in terms of looks) after earlier describing Kate as "not all that....buck teeth etc"

I don't think Sophie is Kate's favourite person in the house, but she doesn't like to see somebody attacked/bitched about/bullied for no particular reason. Sophie needed a friend this week and Jonny and Kate have provided it.

Yes, give Kate a break. If Sophie goes on Friday, Kate will be the next victim of Adele and Jades bitching, in fact, to a certain extent it has already started. How long will it take the poisonous duo to turn Tim against Kate too? Jades already jealous that PJ fancies Kate more than her so seeing Tim and Kate together must be really doing her head in!!

I didnt' think Kate was bitching about Sophies body either, infact I remember her being very complimentry about her.

Quite right. Adele and Jade's behavior has been inexcusable. It's just that Kate's not without blame in this either. And, in some ways, has more root responsibility.

You gotta remember that Adele plays Jade, and Jade only does things that she thinks the more powerful HMs will approve. The bullying of Sophie began when Kate's clique was powerful. Jade happily picked up on this, and then Adele took it over, since it became useful to her.

The point being is that just because Kate's side is weak doesn't mean that she's lacking in culpability. Kate was with Sophie for the first week in the house, and could have had a lot of chances to support her over the last few weeks. She didn't. The "friendliness" is pretty late in the day, and clearly something for Kate to do when all else has failed.

I think Kate is in a no win situation -
if she is friendly to Sophie you will say it is to late
and if she isn't you will say she is a hard cow who should be more sympathetic .
Sophie in the begining - lol this is starting to sound like something out of the bible - I so need to find a life
paired herself off with Lee, IMHO she didn't give the impress she wanted or needed anyone elses friendship.
Although I do remember her saying to Lee once or twice she was being ignored I didn't hear her say by who.
I have never seen Kate be nasty to her or seen her belittle her or make her feel bad.

15.55: Tim gives his thoughts on Sophie's "relationship" with Lee. "He's got a girlfriend. She's just a mug. You knew him a week. You sad act. You sad act"

15.56: "The name irritates me. The face irritates me," says Jade. Tim goes on to say how every sentence ends with "mate". "I'm really going to notice that now you've said it," Kate tells Tim.

I have just read this and it seams to me Kate is becoming 2 faced with Jade and Tim now !

Re-reading the live update transcipt it certainly looks like kate indeed might turn..........is this self survival tactics at work as maybe she knows sophie will be gone and she doesnt want to be tagged as the same brush thereby getting nominations next week?
I'm all confused now in my opinion of kate.......maybe its her PMT at work?

Tim has known Sophie for just over a week but presumed to bitch about her practically from day one. What a sad, shallow excuse for a man he seems to be - can't wait for his ginger roots to start showing through!!!

At least Kate didn't actually horrible to Sophie.....seems more like she was trying not to take sides - if she bitched about Sophie it would make her as bad as them, if she stood up for her then Jade and maybe Tim would be against her. Obviously the nicest thing to do would be to stand up for Sophie but I think Kate has been insecure since Alison and Spencer left, and at the moment Tim seems to like her, and Jade isn't openly horrible to her, so maybe she wouldn't want to jeopardise her position in the house at all.

All I can see is that Kate told Jade that she (Sophie) felt left out, Jade started all the rambling then with a bit from Tim.
