Lots of viewers like Jade!

My dislike for Jade has reached disturbing levels, but I've found it comforting to know that so many others in this forum are as disturbed by her as I am. Still, I began to wonder what the average or casual C4 viewer thinks about her, so I've been asking co-workers, friends, even perfect strangers what they think of her, and it was interesting, to say the least.

Quite a few were rabidly anti-Jade, others thought she was a bit "gobby" but basically a nice girl, and a surprisingly high number quite liked her -- as does Graham Norton, apparently, despite his jibes.

I've heard that C4 intends to gather a pro-Jade crowd when she finally is evicted -- there might be a few isolated boos, but the bloodbath we have been anticipating (and dare I say looking forward to) will be avoided at all costs.

Apparently the thought of Jade sticking her head out the door, hearing only boos, and ducking back inside the house, refusing to go out was worrying the producers, so they are making sure it won't happen.

Can you imagine? After all she's done, Jade walks out of the BB house and is greeted by a cheering, enthusiastic crowd.

I don't think I could bear it.

I think that Jade yes is a big mouth and says what she thinks, but she is so entertaining, like last night jumping on PJ and all the other funny stuff she adds to the programme. I think at the end of the day her heart is in the right place it is just her mouth goes into gear before her brain which I think is very amusing.

Look at it this way how boring would that house be without her it would be so quiet.

I would imagine channel 4 would prefer her in the house for the ratings.

Chortle chortle

I read your thread name and immediately thought that you meant there were lots of viewers like Jade. A horrible image of a nation of Jades sprang to mind.

Yeuch.

Anyway - just a bit of light relief hee hee

If that happens, then we (the view public) will be denied the catharsis of seeing Jade reduced to a blubbering wreak. So she'll have a MUCH harder time outside as every imbecile gives Jade what they thought she should've had on eviction night, and then some. I'll take comfort in that should the worst happen. I doubt they'll totally fix the crowd though, boos for generally unpopular housemates are part of the BB experience.

Did you watch her jumping on PJ live on the E4 interactive feed or did you see tonight's highly edited version on Channel 4? Because if you saw it live I'm at a loss as to how you could describe the whole scene as entertaining - it was extremely unnerving and distasteful, not to mention downright scary. Check out the thread entitled 'I think I'm going to be physically sick' for further details of what went on.

Just interested from a reporting point of view!

BB contestants have 'aftercare therapy' for as long as is needed. If Jade has the ability to deal with the intense house politics and bitching , I'm sure she'll be ok in the outside world. Most (adult) people have the ability to find her antics funny or at least ironic without resorting to the playground-style taunts we've all witnessed in the forums. Jade has had a tough upbringing, and I'm sure her stoic stance will see her though.

That will be so false and unreal of Big Brother ,as Jade says i don,t like false people, let her have it as it should be BB be true to yourself , you can always send a minder in , aftervall shes bought it on herself.

it is ridiculous that bb are planning to fix the crowd. they haven't done so for any other evictee. they've had to take what's coming to them and so should jade if bb let her go out the front door.

i'm concerned that a bad response could be more than jade could take and i wouldn't like to wish a breakdown on anyone. however the other HMs have the right to be able to guage public feeling by the response as the front door opens.

bb should recruit the crowd in the normal way. prior to leaving the house bb should explain to jade that the feelings of the public towards her are quite negative and should she wish to go out the back door and straight to the studio with davina then she can. then the choice is hers. either way the other HMs would have an accurate feeling for our views out here and it may pull certain other HMs up short. it's time they were aware that we think they've gone too far.

So what about all this bawling and crying we have witnessed from Jade over nothing at all? Is this dealing with minor house problems and politics? As soon as the mood in the house starts to go against her we will see more of Jades hysterics soon enough.

In the Web Chat tonight the Producers said they didn't feel the need to do anything special for Jade, and they were sure the public would like her as much as they and the housemates did. The tickets for the eviction are sent before the nominations are announced so it's highly unlikely C4 would be too harsh. Someone who was there last week wrote on another thread that Davina came out and met the crowd before the show so I'm sure they will just ask the crowd not to be too nasty to her, it's not as if she's going to be greeted by a lynch mob.
