Problem with The Link

Hi, i bought a Nokia 6230 on the 13th December last year, and have had to get it repaired 2 times since (sent away). 1 month each time. My dad rang up as all of the default ringtones and graphics arent there, they said i could possibly have a replacement. Do you think i could have a different phone of the same value, or put money towards a more expensive one? Thanks, Peter.

it depends on if you can afford to get a more expensive fone, what sort of things are you looking for in a fone?

It depends on what their company policy is. Many will only replace it with a reconditioned phone the same model or of equivilant value. So be careful of the reconditioned bit.

I was looking at the Sony Ericsson K750i for £220 on O2, new my 6230 was £199.99. So if i could upgrade i will only have to pay an extra £20 towards it.

If you can get the K750i, go for it. I've got mine controling my PC via remote contol at the moment. It really is a cool phone!

i would never get a phone from the link as they deal in seconds and sell them on as normal.
i know is as i have had nothing but problems with them.
i started with a nokia 3510 which the screen want on them the whole phone want wrong so it changed to the nokia 3510i 1st had a s/w error then 2nd the screen want come back and went stridge back in again as it had not been done.
so again i changed it too a phillips cant remember the model but that one blow up and now ive got a 3 phone
but you should be able to get vouches for a new phone for the same price or a more money phone

Battery life seems quite good, much better than my old Motorola V80 and Siemens SL65.

Most of the time now mine lives in it's little dock, connected to my PC. It can charge via the USB port so normally now I have full or almost full power

I work for The Link, and would suggest you get your facts straight before making such outrageous claims! The Link do not deal in seconds at all, we deal in brand new handsets direct from the manufacturer or network.

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you have had, but it does not in any way mean the company sells seconds! Sometimes when a phone is replaced by the repair centre, a refurbished model will be sent, but most times it is a brand new phone too.

The manufacturer basically has three attempts at a repair before a replacement can be requested. This replacement is usually the same model. You should have been told that ringtones and other items could be lost during the repair. I'm sorry to hear it took a month each time - that is excessive and perhaps out of goodwill the store will arrange for a replacement for you (I know I would try my best to do that for you if I was dealing with you!)
