Adele deserves more credit than she's given regarding Jade
Tracy
27-06-2002
Alex and Adele were continuing their conversation about Jade over breakfast this morning. Alex repeated what he said last night, that he felt Jade would very soon stab him in the back. Then Adele said that she'd told BB in the DR 2 weeks ago, that she had a feeling that Jade would do the very same to her soon.

We know that BB are unable to show every DR chat on the C4 programme, but just showing the clip of her telling BB this, could very well have changed people's opinions of her. This is in light of what's gone on just this week.

With the evidence of her not nominating Sophie, it looks like she was just treading carefully around Jade. Letting her true feelings go about what she really thought of Jade during their bust up last week.

You have to remember, that until a day or 2 ago, 3/4's of the people in the house thought the sun shone out of her backside. So, if she'd have said anything, Adele would have been nominated for having a go at the 'baby' of the house.

I think Adele's a very astute woman, that people are failing to give her credit for. She's played Jade very well, and probably beat her at her own game. Like I've said before, Adele kept her friends close, and her enemies even closer!

I've never thought for a minute that Adele would win BB, and she probably knows that, but she doesn't deserve half the flak she's received on the net.

She really does deserve it, she really is just a plain nasty backstabber, nothing really clever in that.

After what Jade has said to Adele and Alex while being drunk you wouldn't need to be that clever to work out what Jade would do in the future.

I don't have a problem with people I don't like the hard this is trying to find someone who I do.

So you don't think it was anything to do with what was shouted out to them about Adele ?

I knew my views of Adele wouldn't prove very popular but, I think she's deserves more credit than she's being given. People seem to forget that Adele's been on the same side as Jade for 3 weeks now, and she could hardly get away from her. Jade was earwigging what Adele was saying all the time. Not only that, every conversation that was going on in the house, Jade was at the centre of.

I get the feeling that if BB had shown the clip from 2 weeks ago, this is the clip about her feeling Jade would stab her in the back, it may have shone more light on her relationship with Jade, and why she's playing along with her.

People just seem to missing the point, that even though she played along with Jade, she didn't nominate Sophie.

Did you not see Adele, in the diary room last night.
She said she got on brill with Jade. How Jade was the only one that really knew her.(because they are so alike)
Jade wouldn't do diddly without Alex or Adel giving her the nod.
All this new found understanding, is because they know the rest of the housematesare on to them.
Damage limitation's is the order of the day.Watch, Adele, Alex being nicer.

I think Jade is more than capbale of making stupid decisions off (or on) her own back!

I can understand Adele getting on with her but not liking certain aspects of her character, if we are all honest probably have a relationship like that in our own life. I know I have one friend I love to bits but I totally dislike some of her morals and the way she behaves but i cannot let that overshadow her whole character as she is also kind at heart.

I'm with Tracy on this one, no doubt in the minority . Both Alex and Adele have admited they find aspects of Sophie annoying - they are entitled to that and I agree with them and if I was in there with little else to do I would probbly find Sophie winding me up and take the p@ss a bit. But, like Alex and Adele what irritates me about Sophie is very harmless and not worthy of nomination and like them I wouldn't nominate her.

PJ finds the same things about Sophie annoying as Alex and Adele yet he thought they were worthy enough reasons to nominate her.

The only thing Adele deserves is a bit of her own treatment. She was doing her "clever@bitching thing to Alex.Just enough to make him think she and he are different. This has been her game with the virgin/sexuality stuff.Tell people individually that its a secret.makes them think they have a special relationship with Adele that she would confide in them=less likely to nominate her.She must be really worried at the moment as her "puppet"Jade is running round like a loose canon...i bet if Jade makes up with Sophie, adele will become sophies friend too and encourage Jade to start on someone else...my prediction-kate!

Adele has been very clever, she has fed Jade with enough to get her mouthing off and she also played the game of singing and name calling. The reason l think she didn't nominate Sophie is all part of her game, Adele knows that apart from not being nominated she has to keep the public on side to vote for her to win, and that probably came home to her when the shouting came over the fence about her.

But at least Adele has admitted in the DR (and therefore to the public) that she's playing the game....

.and surely, thats what its all about??

You could say what is the point of playing the game if it's doomed to end in failure??? I can't quite twig whether she wants to be a despised figure and make an income off of that or whether she thinks that keeping people onside whilst feeding them questions about 'dodgy' housemates will win her the game as the public might disregard that.

It's the sheer venom in her talking that really makes me hate her. It's harder to hate Jade because she's just a downright moron.

Strangely, Adele and Alex while chatting in bed last night said that Jade would soon stab them in the back. Then, what does she do less than 24 hours later, exactly that.

It will be interesting if Adele finds out about it. We know what her reaction was the last time she found Jade back stabbing about her. It could be an interesting few days.

They didn't need to show that clip of Adele in the DR as she's said the same things in the house on E4 feeds at least....Adele has been telling everyone one that everyone else is false and in it to win since early on...why? Because that's what she thinks maybe? Why would she think that of others? Because that's what she's doing herself! We transcribe onto others what we think ourselves, and Adele has betrayed her own plans to try and win by being nice to people in person, and trying to turn others against each other almost from day 1...it's no surprise she might have said in the DR she thought Jade might turn on her, because she's afraid any of the people she's lied to and tried to manipulate will see through her and then strike back...it was hardly a profound prophesy now was it?

As for not nominating Sophie...I'm not sure why that was, but I think she was trying to judge tactically who to nominate based on predicting who others would name...I really don't think she'd not nominate anyone for sympathy or as an act of kindness. She's in it to WIN WIN WIN, and everyone around her are pawns to try and play off each other to reach that goal...*shudder*...horrid thought it it's true that someone could live with people so long and not connect in any real way with anyone...then again, *shudder again*...serial killers walk among us for years...and no, I don't think she's that bad, I'm just following a train of thought...

I agree...though I think I remember her saying she didn't watch BB1 or 2 much so maybe she really doesn't think people on the outside are intellegent enough to see through her...she has the same "I'm too clever to get caught by the stupid public" attitude I fear as Nick in BB1...a distressing level of arogance, which the public will undoubtedly take pleasure in puncturing by a landslide eviction vote...unless against an almost equal figure of derision like Jade...

heh, i wonder though whether the recent events of Jade "making friends" with her previous bitching targets and redirectiong their attention to other people is purely coincidental or by design.

It seems to be me that Adele has become something of a victim of Jade. Jade spends a lot of time talking about other people and invariable being in close company with her for weeks is going to mean having to bitch with her. A friend of mine told me the other day ,in her new workplace, there's a lot of bitching and she'd noticed she started doing it herself.

It's like Jade has somehow realised that making her peace with her "targets" will redirect the flak onto adele and alex, especially as she can now start relaying what "they're" saying about the others. It's like some clever trap, but the words Jade and clever dont sit well in the same sentence.

I don't think it's that people think your views of Adele are unpopular...it's just that, well....you don't seem to quite 'get it'...you are the kind of viewer that Adele is banking on for support.....and fair play to you....she needs them.......imo Adele is incredibly adept at using the DR to her advantage at every opportunity..you know..her little chats in there with the 'gorgeous' brett....she uses the DR to cover her back whenever anything untoward happens in the house, so that she can think that the public won't mind (because she confesses her 'innocence' in the DR)........she thinks EVERYONE has the potential to 'stab her in the back' (by that I think she means " incase they suss me out") What she's doing with Jade is using her and her rather more basic personality to do her dirty work....Adele whispers and Jade jumps......simple really...a bit like the mafia.....the big guys don't get their hands dirty but remove their opponents from the equation with as little discomfort to themselves as possible....I find the whole thing an intriguing study in sociopathic behaviour....learnt more these last few weeks than during my degree!!!............

I actually quite like Adele. She should be given respect for admitting that she does think Jonny "plays up to the cameras" to his face, rather than denying it. I don't really think she is as two-faced as people make out. Although she went along with Jade on b*tching Sophie, like some other people have said, it's easy to go along with the b*tching, especially when there are certain qualities you find annoying in a person (before all this Sophie-bashing started, lots of people found Sophie annoying and probably still do if they think about it), not to mention that she's now isolated from them on the other side of the house.

Adele did say to Sophie that she liked her, but she also said that to Alex as well. I think if you can imagine her comments about Sophie as being slight annoyances about her personality, it really doesn't make her that two-faced - just a bit immature. Maybe she finds it's the only thing she has in common with Jade.

I can't see how her failure to nominate Sophie means she's playing a game, either. Even if she knew that Sophie would be evicted anyway, I don't see how she could use that to her advantage. She's very clever and perceptive - probably enough to realise that PJ wouldn't be voted for by enough people. She's also probably clever enough to work out that Jonny is likely to be nominated a lot, and if she voted for Alex, enough to put him up for eviction, she'd have eliminated one of the massive contenders for the prize... but she wouldn't.The only people she could be fairly sure would vote for Sophie was Jade and Tim, and two isn't enough - she'd need to vote as well to be sure. I think Adele does really vote for the people just doesn't like.

There's no crime in her wanting to win the £70,000, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to understand what her strategy is. Even in the diary room, all she admitted was that she constantly thinking about who to nominate, rather constantly thinking about how to make herself look good.

I don't think Adele's all that bad, really. She may be polite to everyone, but you that might just mean she wants to avoid arguments and upsetting people, rather than back-stabbing them. It's not as if she ever goes around telling PJ or Jonny that they're her best friends - she just doesn't tell them that she dislikes them either. However, the people she really does like, like Alex, she does go around making out that she really likes him. And I really do think she does. I can't imagine her ever turning on him and voting for him, while keeping up this 'pretence'. Adele may be quick to avoid confrontations, but I think 'back-stabber' and 'two-faced' are harsh words to describe her.
