MMS on o2 through Carphonewarehouse
I've just recently signed up for pay monthly on o2 through the Carphonewarehouse - I'm on o2 200. O2 says clearly on their site that they charge 4 text messages for every MMS you send, all out of your regular bundle (I have 100 texts per month).
Just talked to o2 CPW CS and they say there are NO MMS included in my plan? Its 25p per MMS sent. Can anyone confirm that that's correct? If it is, how can CPW get away with that? Do I have any options (I signed up two weeks ago, because CPW would sign me up when others wouldn't; I've recently moved to the UK). Any help is much appreciated... |

follow up
I've just checked the Carphonewarehouse buying guide for September 05, and it states clearly that MMS will count as 4 text messages from the plan allotment. The CS person I spoke to must have not known what he was talking about.
Does anyone know how I am charged for sending an MMS to an email address? Same as other MMS or different? |

Thanks, Steve.
Good to know MMS to email counts the same. I suppose that's a good way around getting charged to send international SMS (assuming you have enough texts in plan to spare the 4 per MMS). And yes, I'm starting to see that cpw are not the best. I guess I'm stuck with them for a year. But I had very little choice: most carriers have a stock policy of not giving pay monthly unless you have proof of residence in the UK for at least 6 months. And, ironically, I really needed to get the pay monthly phone in order to establish credit. thanks again. |

MY contract is an o2 online deal.50 x network minutes anytime.Plus 500 texts and a free nokia 6230.Which i have had since march.Costs me £19 a month.I think they have just changed my call package for new customers to either 100 or 200 free texts.still a good deal though.I wont be renewing my contract in march though, dont use all my call time.Seems a waste of money.I have been with o2 for 2 years.

Yeah, unless my usage changes significantly, I'll probably switch to pay as you go after my contract is up. I'm paying £30 for 200 minutes and 100 texts, and I can't see myself using that many voice minutes.
On the other hand, I needed to go pay monthly to establish credit, and I'm not complaining at all about the free SE K750i - outstanding phone! |
