Sony Ericsson T610 - known problem?
My phone keeps switching on by itself whilst charging up and beeps randomly. After a while it then freezes with a blue screen and a white band across the centre. I correct the freezing by removing and replacing the battery but the phone hasn't charged up at all, even though it initially showed it was charging up. The phone is approx. 1 year old (need to check whether in warranty etc.) is in good condition and is kept in a protective cover/case. This is happening in two out of three charging sessions. Ericsson have emailed me to say I can send it back for repairs. Is this a good idea? Is it a firmware problem? Any ideas?

I must admit I've had a couple of sleepless nights where the bedroom is suddenly lit up by the phone and I've imagined there's a spirit in the room - and I don't mean whisky!

When i had my T610, i used to charge it on a desktop cradle. If I left the phone on whilst charging, the screen would light up every couple of minutes.
Don't think this is the same problem but i just used to switch it off during charge. particularly throughout the night. |

The phone is switched off before charging, so I can't understand why it's turning itself on or why this would cause it to freeze with a blue screen overnight.

I also have this problem. At its worst, the phone can crash and reset itself about 15 times a day!! How annoying!! Is there anything that can be done to stop it?

Had exactly the same problems with mine, eventually it stopped working altogether due to the amount of times the battery needed taking out to reset it. Good phone at the time but unreliable.

Thanks for your replies. Are all Ericsson phones like this or was the T610 a bad design? What are the latest models like?
