I'm sure he won't just 'pop' back, especially after all the fuss over his one episode return earlier in the year. Don't know how they are going to bring him back

I read in a Tv mag today that 'Phil gets his freedom when the case crumbles'...

So it probably doesn't reach trial and he miraculously gets set free.

The Police who arrested him committing the crime confess that it wasn't him they arrested after all.

Lol, quite. Not only that, but he also escaped custody and assaulted a number of officers when they tried to re-arrest him. I've been looking forward to seeing what "technicality" they use to get him off for ages! Bet it'll be lame and barely credible though.

Also, does anyone else find it a bit strange that Peggy has barely mentioned Phiw since she's been back?

What gets me is that Phil must have told Sam that Ian stitched him up when he returned to the square, yet she was still willing to work for him.

I've missed the mitchells, but I just hope they don't ruin the characters like they did with Den.

They borrowed a Dallas storyline for "Who shot Phil?" so why not borrow another and have Phil in the shower and it was all a dream?!?

Mitchells/Ewings ...

Maybe they should. The "Who shot Phil" storyline was funny. I didn't watch Ee much then, but was still interested enough to watch it!!

He was suffering from amnesia. He found himself standing there with the gun and the money and has no idea how he got there or why, but knows it's something to do with Den

So if he's running from the gangsters, why is he going to get arrested??? I'm confused!

I don't think I really understood what was going on at the time - it was all so confusing, and I was really upset over Tiff's death! The last scene of Grant though was not the car chase, it was him getting into a plane, giving us one of those long, this is the last time you'll be seeing me, sort of looks, while EE played the dirge they turn the theme music into when they want to let us know that character is definitely going, and we shouldn't expect him back.

Just found this on the BBC website........

"Grant Mitchell left Walford in October 1999 a wanted man!
He had just staged a robbery on a local gang of villains, as well as admitting to his brother Phil that he had slept with his ex-wife Kathy. It was during the robbery getaway that Phil confronted Grant about the one-night-stand, resulting in their car veering into the River Thames.
Phil discovered that Kathy had spent the night with Grant
Kathy was due to head off to South Africa. She had asked Phil to come with her, but he kept making excuses saying that he needed to be in Walford for Grant.
When Phil learnt of the one night stand he went berserk
He pulled out his gun and began firing shots inside the car. The police car chasing them started to close in and Grant sped up in order to get away. Phil carried on shooting, and Grant eventually lost control of the car and it plunged headfirst into river.
Phil was immediately dragged out as he resurfaced
Grant was nowhere to be seen and it was later presumed he must have drowned. However, he'd managed to escape, complete with the cash. With nowhere left to turn, Grant left Walford for a fresh start in Rio with young Courtney in tow."

So would the police still have him down as "missing presumed dead" ??

I'd completely forgotten about the stuff with Kath!
