Anonymous Call Rejection
Does anybody know of anything I can do so "withheld" calls are not accepted by my mobile? I have spoken to Vodafone and they do not have this service (ACR) as BT do whereby if an anonymous number calls you it will be rejected and the caller played a message saying you do not accept withheld calls. I really dont want to have to change my phone number again and was wondering if anyone knew of anything else I could do. There is nothing on my phone to stop this happening either; call divert wont work with withheld numbers and call barring is only for "all incoming calls" or "all outgoing calls". Anything I dont know about on the market that I can do to the phone? Also, there is no point just putting through to voicemail as caller leaves messages I dont want to hear (and yes police have been informed.)

Would I be correct in assuming these calls are malicious in nature? (no need to go into details).
If so Vodafone ought to be able to assist if you explain the situation to them. Or at least that's what this link implies... http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cgi-bin/CO...alicious+calls |

Thanks for the vodafone link, quite helpful, but will take me down the route of changing my phone number, I'm still trying to avoid this at the moment. Some good information to know though if the police ever need my voicemails/messages off my phone.
I have a Samsung phone, so I dont think this will work. Wish it would... Ive looked all over the net for something but dont think there is anything available. Thanks anyway

Maybe I could keep my number and change the phone to a handset that has this facility available in its phone settings. Know any phones that have this?? (preferably a flip) (beggers cant be choosers I know but I only like flip phones!)

Do you know the phone number of the person making these calls? Vodafone ought to be able to block calls from this number even if this person dials 141 first.
Contrary to popular belief 141 does not totally hide the callers number. People such as the 999 operators for example can see your number all the time and so should the phone operators. So I would try asking Vodafone to put a bar on this persons number. If you don't know the number they might be able to dig it up from their records if you can give them a date and time. |
