3G Dualmode slow switching
Hi I have a Nokia 6680 on O2, most of the time coverage is fine . However if I am in a 3G coverage area and the network drops it takes ages to switch to GSM when in Dual mode. I know I can manualy select GSM in settings, but I load lots of emails etc. and would prefer 3G speed. Is anyone else experiencing this please?

My Nokia 6680 takes no more than 5 seconds to swap, on the rare occasion I leave a 3G area. In fact, because you're an o2 customer the handover should be seamless (unlike me on 3). How long are you talking about?

Hi thanks for the reply. Can be around tens seconds with no network it seems to hunt for a 3G signal and then switch to GSM. This only occurs within Central London

Thanks for the replies guys. I think you are right as it only seems to occur in Central London. When at home it stays on 3G all the time. Perhaps I should switch to GSM when at work until O2 coverage improves

Hi I have a 6680 on o2 and it switches between 3g & gsm instantly. Might be worth going to get the phone flashed or something, possibly a software problem? Quote:

It is about time they improved their 3g coverage, im in derby atm and cannot get 3g at all.

Seemingly like London, I've got 2 friends on o2 can't get a 3G signal in Central Manchester. Once they got out a few miles they're fine!
