I found this on google:

The Mitchell brothers are set to seize control of the Queen Vic in a sensational December storyline. EastEnders bosses are hoping the pair will reel in up to 20 million viewers for the Christmas Day episode and spark a seasonal ratings war with Coronation Street.

Grant and Phil get their mitts on the Vic after helping to nail landlady Chrissie Watts for the murder of husband Den. A soap insider told the Daily Star that a plot similar to the one used to expose Phil’s affair with Grant’s then-wife Sharon will finally snare Chrissie. Hopefully just in time to stop her heavily hairsprayed curls destroying the ozone layer over East London.

Desperate to sell the Queen Vic so she can escape Walford, Chrissie offloads it to Johnny Allen. But the sale falls through – with some help from the Mitchells. “Phil and Grant use their bully-boy tactics to get what they want. But they soon realise they have to be a bit more clever,” revealed the insider. “Chrissie finally believes that she’s sealed the deal, but it all goes down the pan because she forged Den’s signature to take control of the Vic.”

The tricksy Mitchells then record Chrissie as she admits to murdering Den and blackmail her into handing over the pub. Simple, eh?

Haha that sounds pretty awesome.
I knew the forged signature had to get in the way eventually!
Even if she didn't get found out about the murder, couldn't she get into a lotttt of trouble for forging his signature?

Her solicitor could also be had up for her involvement in the forgery.

that has been the question since Den was discovered. i might be a bar humbug and state the police would have checked that has part of their investigation, but i don't mind if it means a storyline like this

I am amazed that the forgery aspect hasn't been investigated by the Police. It's because it's Soap I suppose.

I thought they would check up on it, but then she would already be in trouble!
Soaps aren't really into the what would happen if this were to really happen in the real world which makes it all the more fun to watch

Yes but if Grant and Phil blackmail Chrissie this would suggest they won't go to the police, therefor leaving sam to take the rap Nice

Phil and Grant wouldn't do this to their sister. They'll claim the Vic from Chrissie after blackmailing her, but I bet they still inform "the filth" and Chrissie is arrested

This sounds good but I have doubts about it happening at Christmas as Chrissie leaves early in November so I'd say this is all more likely to happen then.

Apparently, Grant and Phil have a drink in the Vic on their first episode on 25th October and decide to do everything they can to save Sam. Also rumour has it Ross Kemp is filming again in November, so perhaps a Christmas storyline for Grant seems likely at the moment.

The Police would regard the Mitchell brothers as real quality independant witnesses .

Why would phil even be released???? Isnt he meant to be in prison, after going on the run sureley theres no way he'd get bail.He was caught redhanded so it can't be they didnt have evidence. hmmm one rule for the mitchells another 4 everyone else!

I hope the mitchells stupid plan doesn't work and chrissie escapes in the end after torching the vic,the look on their face will be priceless All theyre left with is the burned down crappy pub while chrissies long gone, living it up in argentina maybe
