O2 Email Message Settings
Rob_Online
08-10-2005
Hi All,

Does anybody know the O2 Email Message settings for the Moto V3 on PAYG?
I'd like to be able to link the phone up so I can view emails people have sent me etc.
Is there anywhere that lists the ISP Settings etc?

Thanks for any Info
, Also, is the WAP on O2 free again, because I used up my 1.5MB allowance and it started costing, but is now free again :S

The Motorola V3 does not have the ability to use POP3 unfortunately.

O2 discontinued SMS to Email quite a long time ago so you wouldnt be able to use that function either.

You can use MMS to email and tap a message onto the MMS but I know thats not realy the same as a proper email though at least if you really needed to you could send it to an email address. The person you emailed the MMS to would not be able to reply though.

Motorola V3 POP3 Email Pay Monthly settings

Please ensure that when entering 'O2' into the settings that the letter 'O' is selected and not a zero.

Please note all steps must be completed to ensure the settings are correctly configured. Please check the software version on the handset before proceeding..

The phone has a 4-way directional ‘Navi’ key and 1 softkey above (menu) and 2 softkeys to either side of this. The Navi key can also be pressed in to select options.

To check the software version.
Press the Menu button (directly above the Navi key).
Highlight ‘Settings’, use the Navi key to select.
Highlight ‘Phone Status’, use the Navi key to select.
Highlight ‘Other Information’, use the Navi key to select.
Highlight ‘S/W Version’, use the Navi key to select.
If the software version is anything other than R374_G_OE.40.3CR, proceed as below. If not the handset needs a software upgrade to use POP3. Should this be required you will need to contact Motorola on 08709010555. They will assist in the upgrade.

Is it possible to get email from any POP3 provider on O2 or is it limited to O2 and yahoo only?

I have my own POP3 server with my hosting company and would like to create a mobile@domain.co.uk account to use with my phone, does anyone know if it will allow me to access this?

Thanks

I believe so, using the access point mobile.o2.co.uk i mean you can do things like use a 3rd party browser so it does have proper internet access.

Pay&Go or contract?

With contract you should be able to access any POP3 provider, including your own one, but on pay&go it's o2 only as the rest are blocked - for me anyway. That's why i'm orange'd up, i can get my yahoo mail via orange contract and prepay
