Thank you so much Rowetta for such lovely pictures and yes they are lovely genuine people.. with amazing voices and talent as well.

Shame the single was such a shambles, fans cannot believe how badly this have been dealt with.. and sad for JS as I am sure they hoped to boost the album sales.. still just another blunder by Sony BMG what do we expect.. nothing more as it happens.. lets hope for a great tour.. summer shows and the new album early next year being a huge success and showing what JS are really all about.. blues, rock and some up tempo stuff.

Just thought I would give this thread a little bump!

I seen the guys on Friday night, and they were lovely as usual. They performed quite a few songs (I think there were only supposed to do a few, but they stuck around a bit longer!) They were extremely drunk though, which only added to the hilarity. They forgot their words a few times, and Carl fell over on stage, but they were fantastic!

They hung about out the back for quite a while after their performance while they were waiting on their taxi to chat and get pictures with a few people. They have promised that the next album will all be originals, so I'm holding them to that! They're already writing tracks for it, and they're off to Sweden and the US soon to write.

Just have to add that they are fantastic guys, and they are really coming out of their shell now, Carl in particular. I don't know if was the drink or not, but he was very confident on stage, and very loud on the streets! Was lovely to see!

I took a few videos when I seen them on Friday, so I've uploaded the best one, which was 'Let It Be'. (Watch for Carl falling over! )

You shouldn't be making negative comments on an appreciation thread you know

However I have to say even though I like JS, that in part, only in part I have to agree with LB to an extent I do like JS a lot and I think they have great singing voices. But to many I imagine it could look bad to be getting drunk before a peformance and going on to give a bad performance because of it as in forgetting some of their words and falling about. It could turn some of the fans off and if the media picked up on it, it could even begin to lead to some misleading stories, if you know what I mean. If they were slightly tipsy, that can be put down to just dutch courage, but if drunk then not. I don't think this is the first event this might have happened at.

I have to say I reallydo like JS. But even as a fan, I have to add that maybe they need to think before doing a performance, of their fans and the media. Good luck to the JS boys anyway and to further success

I probably should have made it clearer before, but they were performing in Jumpin' Jaks, which is a nightclub. They were given drinks there, and they took advantage of that! They were brilliant with the crowd, who were all probably pretty drunk too. It was just the nature of the gig they were doing.

Any other times I've seen them, they have been completely sober.

Oh, and I probably went a little overboard when I said they were 'extremely drunk'. They were just very merry!

Thanks for clearing that up Sparrow I must admit to getting a bit worried if the media picked up on anything. Stuff can so easily get twisted out of proportion.

Sounded like a great evening, glad you enjoyed it and you are so lucky to have got to see them perform their songs at a few venues. I haven't got to see them singing live at a venue once yet

I think this type of thing will do JS no favours at all, and I have voiced that opinion openly. As people have even posted pics of them looking very drunk.. which sorry may be rock and roll.. but it just may put people off as well. And you may now say merry that is not what is said on the OS .. it says wired to the moon I think was the quote made.. you all know I have the unofficial site and I think that some of the members have been rather shocked to read and see some of the pics posted up on the official site.. the Sun would love some of those pics and write a very damning story.

I think we have fans on the OS who have very little regard for Andy and Carl or they would not be posting up what they are.. and I am not indicating anyone of them is here, but I agree with Susan on this one.. they need to watch what they are doing to be honest with you.

This may prove very unpopular here but I am honest, and if I see things that I am not too sure on I will say so.. and Andy and Carl drunk is something I will say about.. and maybe some of the fans on the OS should think it is a place where the press pounce ... and family read and they are none to impressed to see this type of thing either.

I have to say one thing on Louis he has made bloody sure Shayne has not been seen like Gareth was falling out of nightclubs out of his brains on drink.. and JS need to maybe think on that.. yes have a good time.. but they have to be careful what is then posted up about them. And sorry a nightclub should be no different for an artist than an arena or theatre.. having fans can be a double edged sword.. and just lately it is cutting both ways.. unlike Shayne JS do not have the teeny boppers they have more mature fans.. and some are thinking what the hell am I reading here.. and I mean on the OS.. the unofficial site censors nothing.. but oddly the fans seem to have a little more respect.. and have to say some of the real nutters dont post on it either.

GG

Rant over but as I say I agree on this totally with Susan..

I am not a Journey South fan but I have to say that I was shocked reading the post by Sparrow the other day. I thought best not to say anything but just wanted to add that I agree totally with GG post. Everybody needs to let their hair down & enjoy a drink but it seems to me unprofessional to be 'drunk' when performing. I do feel sorry for artists who get snapped by paps when they are out in their personal life. It must be difficult for any of these X-Factor / Pop Idol acts to adjust to the newly found fame but for me drinking when 'working' is not on. As GG says if this happens regularly Victoria Newton et al will revel in reporting it.

Yes MB and I am a fan but a very honest one.. I was not happy to see the pics I did on the OS or some of the comments and reports.. it will not bode well with other fans to see this type of thing.

I have met the lads 6 weeks ago they are lovely and I can honestly say not drunk at all.. in fact Andy was driving and drank water all night.. Carl had one drink with me and I said Hey JD and coke and he said no vodka and coke.. but they were stone cold sober and they performed brilliantly..

There is an age old saying MB "familiarity breeds contempt" one JS should learn very fast if you ask me.

They have fans that are peeing other fans off as well.. in the I have met them here there and everywhere with pics to prove it.. it is not a contest for me it is about supporting an act you love. ..

I do realise how hard it is for them to shut themselves away from the fans they want to thank.. and I thank them for wanting to do that. .. but drunk on stage.. well not sure that is a good advert myself.. forgetting words.. it may be a laugh if you were there.. reading it however was not quite as funny for me.

The "other fans" you mentioned, i think their correct terminology is "stalkers"

God, I've opened a can of worms, here, haven't I!

OK, so maybe it isn't professional to be drunk when you're performing, but this was midnight in a packed club. Everyone in there was drunk, and Andy and Carl had a few drinks. I don't think you'd catch them like that in an afternoon performance, or in a place where that's not acceptable. For me, it was just the nature of the gig that they were doing.

Yes, their inhibitions were loosened a little, but they put in a great performance, and they were constantly interacting with the crowd, who were loving them. They got a fantastic reception. They fluffed their words a little during 'Let It Be', which is something that can happen to any performer who is singing live, sober or not. And, yes, Carl did fall. Some on the OS have said that someone grabbed his jeans pocket, and he tripped.
I don't think that's what happened, but I don't think it was because he was drunk. He just fell up the stairs.

Reading back my post, I've obviously not made some things clear enough, and I'm sorry if anyone is offended by A&C's behaviour, but they weren't doing anything wrong. They had a few drinks, and a great time. They also put in a great performance, and gave the crowd their money's worth.

I posted some pics up on the OS, but I don't think I posted any that showed them in a bad light. I do have a very high regard for A&C, and I would never post any pics, which were not suitable for a forum, and to the best of my knowledge, I haven't. And if anyone watches the video that I posted on this thread above, I'm sure you will see they were not making fools of themselves.

And, Lynn, I did post that they were 'wired to the moon' on the OS, but that wasn't just because of drink, they were just very chatty and funny, which I think was just their personalites shining through. They were a lot of fun, and I, and everyone who was there, had a great time.

I seem to have upset you Sparrow, in your video do you want me to be honest they look at pissed as parotts! and that did not come from me it came from some else who made the comment, I dont have time to look at every single thing put on my site or the OS, and I looked and thought HELL she is bloody right. It may be late, it may be a nightclub, there is also a word called professional and they look like a couple of two bit karoke singers in your video that someone just brought in off the streets.. and I know they can be far more than that. The sooner they stop doing these two bit rubbish places the better as they are more professional at other gigs than these.

I have read more than just your report here remember, and people have commented on the forgetting words, yes artists do, but not often, and flipping heck how many words are there in Let it Be to forget.

They want to have fun great, so does Ronan Keating and he interacts with his crowd and I have never seen him drunk or forget his words either.

And I would appreciate Sparrow that you note I do not call you by your first name please show me the same courtesy.

I am a JS fan, I support and work my back side off on promotion for them so do not think I am not a fan, but one thing I am is an honest fan. When Ronan falls off the stage drunk I will be the first to shout about it.

Just bumping this up in case anyone is still interested in them. They are apparently off on a cruise liner doing a tour in a few weeks.
