They are married - or maybe divorced - who knows in the heady world of dance where they change partners as often as dance shoes!

Sorry! i don't mean to be pedantic or far out or anything...but I may just wait until they have danced until I vote for who I want to go/stay in!

There have been many celebs over the years who I have not liked, and I have changed my mind over, when seeing them in reality shows.

And I think it is harsh to say that you will vote someone out before they have danced a step.

It is like the X factor with one or two saying they will vote for a certain guy, whether he sings well or not.

I know I am crazy..but I like to go by performance! I could not stand Denise Lewis last year..but she deserved to be in the final.

Sorry for being pernickity.....but that is how I vote on these shows.

Oh thanks, I thought they might be brother and sister or something as the women in married dance couples don't usually use their married names in competitions etc do they!

I'll be looking out for him on tv now, I'm all intrigued!

Matthew is a good dancer has danced at highest levels since young. If they are not divorced by now they are on their way to it. Didnt Nicole have problems re drink driving last year?

Bohochick, I agree. We should wait until we see how they dance in the first week.

So far I have been COMPLETELY wrong with pre-thoughts on how particular celebrities would dance. I was looking forward to seeing Carol Vorderman last year as I thought she would be really good; especially as she is intelligent -and it usually helps if you are intelligent to dance well - but as we all know, she was particularly terrible.

I am more mourning that I haven't heard any plans for Natasha Kaplinsky to be about. i think she is a great presenter and should take over from Tess.

Also highly frustrated that I wil miss tomorrow night's show and have to watch it on video!!!!!

So how abuot I beg for you guys to all vote sensibly for "the best potential dancer!"?

You're going to have a hard time voting her off by the looks of all the news coverage. All the articles that are being run at the moment are about Brendan and Fiona. Did anyone see the article about him and Sasha in the paper? Are they an item or not?

The last series and the one before that (were there two?) were ruined for me by the awful dance band and accompanying singers.

I love ballroom dancing and watching the intricate steps and lovely dresses etc. but why spoil it all by having a second rate band - we don't need singers accompanying dancing, do we? Bring back a Victor Silvester-type band/orchestra or the Edmundo Ross orchestra.

sorry but have to disagree your choice of bands to replace the current one victor and edmundo were great in their day but for today they would be so dated when I listen to some of my fathers old music at the school it could just not be used today.

Well, I do have to agree with you if I'm to be frank. I could still enjoy it but I don't think that my choice would go down too well.
I just think that we don't want the distraction of a trio of somewhat doubtful singers, that's all! They cetainly spoil it for me.

I'm probably as old as your father and did all my ballroom dancing to the delights of VS and ER et al and had a large record collection of those artists.

All I want is good ballroom dancing tempo music, not what Strictly Come Dancing provides, unfortunately.

dont get me wrong some of my dads old teaching records we have transferred to cd and the dancers who dance to them love them its just unfortunate that edmundo's and victor's music has dated so much. Dont like the singing much on SCD who is the band btw?

It's subjective whether one considers their music dated. Their appearance with ties and coat tails may look dated toay, but their style of music, in my opinion, FWIW, never dates.

Don't forget that after VS senior, his son (now deceased?) took over the orchestra and I have got some tapes of R2 broadcasts as late as 1992. It is a pity that someone else could not have continued with some variation of that VS sound although I realise that many of the old players are no longer with, us as would be expected.

I don't know who the present encumbent is although I'm sure the details are given at the end of the show? I really don't want to sound old fashioned and realise that you can't go back to those 'good old days' but just get rid of those singers, that's all that I would ask - they spoil the show for me.

yeah the singers are bad and I found with Strictly Dance Fever the sound was wrong for salsa. And with Salsa and Argentine Tango added hope the band is up to it. As a child I remember Joe Loss being very popular and can remember Edmundo Ross. My favourtie dance bands do tend to be German these days

No mention so far of the absolutley gorgeous Colin Jackson - those hips had me mesmerised. Jaye, yo'ure a great girl but sorry my vote is going to Colin at the moment. Can't wait to see him do a ballroom dance and Zoe do a sassy Latin one.

I disagree. I think lifts distract from the actual dance and they're NOT dancing when they do lifts - it is Strictly Come Dancing after all.

It annoys me the most when Arlene goes on about making the Ballroom dances more exciting - they are exciting.. you just have to look at the beautiful flow and elegance of those dances - adding tricks is just that, tricks! It's not dancing.
