can anybody tell me if there is anyway of checking how many minutes and texts i have used so far this month online with 02 ?

yes but you have to register with o2's on-line website first then it gives you a 'rough' account its not updated regularly though i think its only done once a day

As above. You will have to signup with an O2 account at www.o2.co.uk

To find out your free mins you need to go to 'My bill' then click on 'Unbilled Usuage' then click on 'Bundle allowance'

The information is only for guidance and is updated between every 24-48hours.

If you have changed tariffs be careful as the previous tariffs mins will remain on the unbilled free mins screen for upto 3 months.

You loose any free mins when changing tariff, so even though it shows the mins from previous tariff you will NOT get them.

is there anywhere on the web that you can check the tariffs for o2 customers that do not have an online tariff? i can only see the online tariffs, but I want to see the shop tariffs

The website is primarily designed for online customers only so does not really have any of the shop (highstreet / offline) tariffs on it.

Customer services can analyse your bill and recommend you a tariff.
