I've just bought a Sony Ericcson W800i on O2
And I'm awaiting its delivery.....
I'm really excited and feel like a little kid... Does anyone else here have one? It seems to have so many features, is the alarm clock loud as I'm a deepish sleeper? Thanks Potatolegs

As most of it is similar to the k750i, which i own, i can say that the alarm clock WILL WAKE THE DEAD !!!. Never mind if i hear it, they can hear the dam thing in the next time zone.
If its half as good as the 750 then you've bagged yourself a real gem

yeah the w800i is the same but it comes with better earphones, cable to connect to a hifi, bigger memory stick and has a "flight mode" where you can play the music without turning the phone on

I got mine around a month back and its brilliant! I know how agonising the delivery is, especially when your operator makes a right mess of your order! (like they did with me)

Seems a bit pointless really ..... Good phone though, I do like the high-spec Sonys. Being on PAYG though ..... |

You can buy a k750i case if you wanna change the look of your w800i. The same also applies to the w800.

I signed up with O2 yesterday and was planning to get the W800i until I played with that and the K750i in the store.
I prefer the K750i. I wasn't too bothered about having a walkman on my phone and the K750i has a media player anyway that will play MP3s if I want t do so. The only thing I prefered on the W800i was the len cover on the back, other than that I prefer the K750i and chose that one. The O2 store I visited had stock of both phones, but only just as they'd had a delivery of them about 3 hours before I got there and I'd reserved one over the phone due to them selling VERY quickly. If you ordered your W800i online or over the phone then there's aparantly a wait of up to 14 days. That's what they told me when I called up couple of days back, so I went to the store to see if they had any. My mate's got the W800i and it is a nice phone, 99.9% identicle to the K750i, so it's mostly a case of preference. Do you want it slick black or stand out orange? Do you want a media player or full on MP3 walkman that will plug in to the stereo. Having an Ipod already means I don't really need another MP3 player. The only downside is that the W800i comes with a 512 memory stick where as the 750i doesn't. Having said that, I got my K750i free and the W800i was £30 on my tarrif, so that can go towards a gig stick next week. |

It's a top phone.
It does seem hitty-missy on stock though. I ordered from O2 online (new contract) last Wednesday night and paid extra for Saturday AM delivery and got an email on Friday afternoon saying they were out of stock. Oh well, they promised to refund the delivery charge anyway. A couple of hours later another email arrived saying it was on it's way and it turned up 9am on Saturday ![]() As I say - pot luck! |

You can buy the case, as mentioned by someone else before, for both these phones and change them to look like the other. You can also flash the firmware using Davinci to make either phone behave like the other too, so which ever phone you have you can make it look and act like the other as they are the same phone hardware wise. I also found this on the flashing site. They were discussing the main differences between the W800i and the K750i Quote:
a few differences: So I think I will keep my K750i as it is. I was more interested in a decent camera phone than MP3 player and it will still play MP3s.walkman - 512mb, k750i - 64mb (in box) walkman - no video DJ and photo DJ walkman includes advance media player in walkman the song details and progress bars are shown in the main desktop itself. Also the walkman phone has flight mode, just to play music without using the sim. k750i on the other hand is the flagship model having greater design ie more elegant and having greater imaging capabilities. It seems the W800i has MP3 features the K750i doesn't and the K750i has photo and video features that the W800i doesn't have. And I still prefer the look of the K750i I think, apart from that rear slider for the lens cover. That's the only bit that the W800i has that's better. |

I got the W800i about a month ago, and I am very impressed with it. I was looking at the Nokia N70 handset first of all, but as a digital camera is important now since my first digi camera died, and that I have been after an mp3 player for a while, after a quick look at the link below, this made my mind up, and am sat here with a smug grin knowing that I made the right choice.
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n90_vs...-review-46.php Enjoy your W800i - I'm sure you will

So be warned!! O2 I am not sure about, the person that advises me on O2 has been away this week. Not sure if that store that I mentioned before has any in stock any more, I doubt it though. They get busy at the weekends. My mate still has his one though, I am now trying to get it off him instead of him just sitting with it in it's box. At least this way I can get it on Ebay even if he doesn't want to for some reason

Nice phone, had a good play with it and now it's loaded with music ![]() Ju411 |

It can also connect to your PC via bluetooth too which is quite handy, but USB2 is quicker for transfering files. |
