How to stop jokes from 87140?
ian_uk

The last few weeks I've been receiving text messages with jokes in them from a number 87140, and I just got yet another one. I definitely did not sign up for this service, and would like it to stop. I don't know whether or not it's charging me for this, but I hope not.

Can anybody help?

Send STOP to the short code. IF this does not work let me know and i will get you the customer service number for the company.

You should be able to text the word STOP to any of the short code services and they have to stop sending you the messages.

Quote:
“The new safeguards build on the common ‘STOP’ command introduced 12 months ago by the mobile phone industry to enable consumers to cancel subscription services by texting the word ‘STOP’ to the text shortcode related to their service. This ‘STOP’ command will now be extended to cover any form of text, WAP or media messaging-based marketing to enable consumers to stop the receipt of any marketing messages.”

Horay! I sent the text message, and I just got a message back from them saying the service had been cancelled.

Thank you!
