i would advise you to go for a sony ericsson w800i instead, its got more memory (24mb built in and 512k memory card included) the phone supports up to 2gb memoery stick duos so you should able to get loads of songs on there, the headphones that come with it are better then ipod headphones and the the phone is pure class. and am not just saying that because i have one either.

Most phones can actually be used as an mp3 player. I've had a 7600 for 2 years which has worked fine for me.
This is one of the phones that have been marketed as an actual mp3 player phone, but in reality, most of the phones out are capable of this.

The only difference is that this is the 1st phone that has been designed to use iTunes to download songs, and to be honest is a little ugly compared to the iconic design of the iPods.

I saw one last night in the O2 shop. They don't look too bad, but I tend to avoid Motorola phones.

The only Motorola I've ever owned and not got bored of or found limits with is the A1000. Every other Motorola I've seen has limited features, let down by menus or is just boring.

Go in to a store and ask to have a play with one, they are normally very happy to let you do so.

And if it's MP3 playing phones you want I would also take a look at the W800i or K750i from Sony Ericsson.

I can't actually believe they have painted my phone Motorola E398(i think they are the numbers lol) silver and are passingit off as a brand new phone.

At least Sony used a really good phone, this phone was good when I got it a year ago since it has 64MB and an MP3 PLayer on it but the camera isn't that good compared to the Sony and it doesnt capture video.

But I do love the tiny wee transflash card, is it true that it can be used in place of a memory stick duo?

Go for Sony Ericcson!

I agree, the phones of the moment appear to be the K750i and the W800i (both the same phone with different firmware)

Yes, get the W800i, if you can find one anywhere It comes with a decent amount of memory, and crucially, it also has very good headphones included, but you can plug in a set of your own if you want.

The other distinct advantage is that you don't have to go anywhere near iTunes. Which is a godawful lump of crap.

Not wanting to cause a stampeed, but when I picked up my K750i on Wednesday night, the store also had W800i in stock as well.

They were out of stock on both of them until that afternoon (when I called to reserve mine) and still had some left Wednesday night when I went to pick my phone up.

Anyone in or near Sheffield *cough* O2 shop, Meadowhall *cough*

There are 2 o2 shops in Meadowhall and only one of them has stock of them currently (the one by the statues of the metal workers).

These things really are in demand it would seem though and the stupid thing is that my mate had 5 of them recently. One he gave to his girlfriend, three he sold to his mate who sells and repairs mobiles for a living and the other is just sat in his bedroom in it's box! I have advised him that now would be the best time to Ebay an unopened and unlocked W800i while they are in demand, but he says he's holding on to it Daft or what?
