Some of the questions posed as part of the recent task were dificult, (how many trees???), and some were easy, (how many mirrors?.....Kate does spend a lot of time looking at her reflection), but by far the easiest was to name the housemates in alphabetical order. It is the sort of question put to an seven-year-old to test his or her knowledge of the alphabet. Kate failed, meaning five housemates spent another unnecessary week on the poor side, they also had to suffer Kate's company, and Tim will go insane with no-one to manipulate. However, Kate didn't fail because of her intrinsic stupidity, she failed because she has no interest in the other housemates. For her, the other housemates are there to like her, she has never taken any interest in them at all. How many times do we see someone speak to Kate and her response is to totally ignore what was said or even to acknowledge that the person spoke to her. For the first nominations, weeks ago, Lee and Adele nominated Kate and their similar stated reason was that she seemed to ignore what they said and didn't speak to them. The only time she converses is when she is rubbing up against one of the male members, (pun intended).

There has clearly been a gap somewhere in Kate's teenage years where she stopped maturing. She is ill-mannered, incapable of having a conversation and stuck with a blank expression on her face that would embarass a puppy.

Kate is 'vacant' of any brain power or reasoning .. often shown when someone is talking to her and then and leading up to a posing question .. she begins by forcing a rye smile and then works up to one of her more 'vacant' expressions .. essentially saying, "I haven't a clue what your talking about.. can you rephrase this please as I'm not as bright as you might think.."

Remember Sandy when he explained to her that he thought she was "manipulative.." -- She replied, "whats manipulative mean…. [long pause]… no really, I don't know, what does manipulative mean .. "

Sadly there have been far too many of those “vacant-Kate” moments..

Have you noticed how rarely Kate makes an appearance on the Channel 4 coverage, both the highlights and the live on Friday and Saturday. The producers favour Kate, and the only way to show her in a good light is not to show her at all.

I don't agree. You say that some of the questions were harder than others, fair enough, but although the mirrors-in-the-rich-bathroom question might seem easy, Kate hasn't been in the rich bathroom for two weeks, so it can't have been that easy, and maybe the tree question was harder, but to say one when there are five isn't a very good guess! Also, although I probably could have answered the alphabetical question, not everyone could, and there was surely a lot of pressure on her. I feel sorry for Kate; I like her and don't agree with your comments. I haven't seen her ignoring other people at all - can you give me some examples. As for only playing up to the boys, well she hasn't been with any girls except for Sophie for weeks. She spent one week with only men, and then last week was with Sophie and, I think, was very nice to Sophie considering the way the other girls treated her! As for 'ill mannered' and 'incapable of having a conversation', i haven't seen evidence of this either (feel free to give me some examples). At the beginning she seemed a bit spoilt and immature, but since she's been on the poor side I've really warmed to her, she's moaned much less than the others despite being pretty down sometimes.

I haven't talked to anyone who managed to do Kate's final task last night, even in a lot more time than she had. Not to mention the pressure was under.

Seriously though, one of the things I like about this forum is seeing how differently the housemates come across to different people.

I am not a Kate fan, I have overwhelming indifference to her as I do find her a bland, clique person so I can find niether great attributes to either like or dislike her.

However, I will defend her perfomance last night. Anyone who has done live television or radio broadcasts will know it can be extremely nerve wrecking, in a very uncontrolled manner. You can be asked the most basic question and your mind scrambles, that's why being on tv is actually a lot harder than it looks.

Credit to the girl, she took the challenge as she knew she had to for her own survival, not to have done it would count against her, and also for the good of the group, being a group animal it was in her best interest to get the group together as that is the enviroment she thrives in.

Exactly - sometimes I think different versions of BB are being shown at the same time in different areas.

Intellect is not really about knowledge and certainly not about lucidity of expression although the latter two often follow from the former. The main reason that Kate is irritating is not really her lack of knowledge nor her odd approach to the English language, it is her failure to know how to talk to people. Allegedly, she works for a helpdesk, advising people on how to use a computer. How on earth does she manage this, or are her communication skills different in the workplace?

Learning how to communicate, how to have a conversation, comes from age and experience and most children are able by the age of ten to tweleve, some sooner. If I met a twelve-year-old who communicated like Kate then I would think that that child is a bit slow or else just rude and badly-brought up.

Kate is not malicious nor vindictive towards people, she is rude without realising or acknowledging that she is because she doesn't consider it a problem.

After Alison's eviction, later on in the diary room, Kate sat there crying. Not many tears that I could see, but she was sort of gulping her throat kind of, similar to how a child cries. Hmmmm.

She said something to the effect of "I'm going to try and win this now,....for Alison more than anyone".

She cared about "Allie" so much, that she was the FIRST name that Kate forgot in the list last night. Whoops, hope Alison wasn't watching.

And yes I do remember the "manipulative" thing with Sandy. LOL. He just looked like he couldn't be arsed saying anything to her after that. He had a sort of "for f***s sake" expression on his face.

I really think that she has changed the way she's playing now.

In the space of a week my opinion has changed completely about her.
I too, like lala, didn't like her one bit. Now I like her a lot.

She's stopped blaming everything on Alex, she's stopped the tears.
And now she's done that, she's all the better for it.

Everyone KNEW that Sophie was bullied, but nobody, NOBODY had the guts to step forward and do something about it.
There was no two-facedness or telling tales, she just went for it and sorted it all out in a very direct and mature way.

I knew she was stronger than she was making out.Her audition tape suggested that.
She was a disappointent at first. But for the second half of this year's BB she's really shining.

As for her intelligence. Well I'm not sure it's that easy to judge so much about a person's intellect from what we've seen.She may have not had a good education, but may actually have an okay IQ. Well I don't know, maybe she isn't the brightest button.

But as far as I'm concerned, I don't judge if I like someone based on their apparent intellect.
Intelligence isn't the first thing that I judge someone by. sometimes one who is intelligent can sometimes have that hint of arrogance in there as well.

If they have endearing qualities first, And they're intelligent as well, then there's a good chance I could like them.
