You do write the biggest load of tosh most of the time Epi....no shirts to iron tonight???....since ALL the housemates got their questions wrong (apart from Tim who was asked a question anyone could have answered)...most of them were easy..I mean, how Adele got that Room question wrong is beyond me, and Alex, I mean the fastidious berk admitted himself that he'd hung his clothes on the 'five' trees most day..hardly a forest to remember huh!.........interestingly even on BBLB and in the producion room and with a hell of a lot longer than 30 seconds to think about it, no-one got Kate's question right.........and I sure as hell don't think you could have!!......and for bad manners Adele is the epitome............but then you can't see beyond your own prejudices..........

Do you know, Alrightmate, this is probably the first post of yours, that I can agree wholeheartedly with....I can't say that I actively disliked Kate on first impressions, just that she seemed a bit of a nonentity, I didn't take much notice of her one way or another, but I was incredibly impressed by the mature way she dealt with Jade Adele and Tim's bullying of Sophie...I only hope she keeps this up and doesn't let Adele hoodwink her into thinking that Jade is an independent troublemaker....

...and on the alphabet thing...I found it hard..I thought "oh! ded easy!" thought for the 30 seconds and reeled them off..I'd forgotten Alison (my most fav. housemate) lee, sandy and...Kate!!....lol....all the funnier because I'm a primary school teacher and putting things in Alphabetical order is something my 6 year olds have to do as a regular work activity!!!.....but then the producer in the BB hub, at the time of the questions admitted to getting it wrong too!!! ( no that I'd like my intelligence equated with hers!!)

I really like Kate!Id love for her to win!Shes loyal and more honest than a lot of others in there!!Shes identified Alison,Spencer and Jonny as her friends and ive never heard her slagging them off!!!I also think it was good that she offered to do the question on Saturday after being in the poor side for 2 wks already!I doubt the likes of Alex would have done the same for her!!!Give her a break!

Everyone KNEW that Sophie was bullied, but nobody, NOBODY had the guts to step forward and do something about it.
There was no two-facedness or telling tales, she just went for it and sorted it all out in a very direct and mature way.

But as far as I'm concerned, I don't judge if I like someone based on their apparent intellect.

Kate has indeed changed the way she's playing the game. She has realised - not before time - that very few people tolerate whingers & has therefore adopted a highly effective 'girl next door' persona. She is to be congratulated for this, as it displays a sense of environmental/social awareness that - for me, anyway - serves to belie the 'Dumb Kate' tag. It takes native intelligence to metamorphose so quickly and so thoroughly from one persona to another.

Was Kate's championing of Sophie merely a strategic ploy to win public votes, or did it spring from a heartfelt sense of the injustice of the Sophie bitchfest ? Either way, it was a brave thing to do, as she could have isolated herself totally from the Alex/Adele/Jade axis. Instead, of course, she came up smelling of roses....

Finally: does our approval of the HMs HAVE to be based on how much we 'like' or 'trust' them ? Based on her performance on BB, I wouldn't trust Adele as far as I could throw her, but as I shall never have any personal dealings with her this is largely irrelevant. Perhaps she is simply a superb strategist and is sweetness and light personified outside BB ? Anyway, I'm rooting for her precisely BECAUSE she's a superb strategist and has provided excellent entertainment thus far...

i agree with all that but can't help feeling a little disappointed that kate has allied herself so quickly with adele and alex, this will change who she is percieved by the outside world. adele and alex are using her to perfection , she has done all their dirty work regarding jade for them and the outside can see that she doesn't just listen to adele she joins in..... similar to the very silly and naive jade, she will also be sacrificed come the end .

Fair point, but she could just be being like that to stay on the good side of them. She is all pally with Jade yet has nominated her previously and hopefully she may be able to see through Adele & Alex as she has been warned about them.

I like Kate.She has had a hard time of it being rejected by Alex to live on the rich side.Did anyone notice the other girls did not particulaly seem that bothered that she was left over there?
I think she has character and has bounced back remaining on friendly terms with everybody.
Everybody has bitched in the house, but Kate does not as much as the others even though she has had more reason to.
She deserves to be one of the final few.

Alex didn't reject kate, he just prefered the company of Jade and Adele. What you say about Kate not being as bitchy as others is true but there is a diference between being disliked and not being liked. The latter description applies to Kate as far as most of the housemates are concerned, she tends to get forgotten because of her lack of defined personality.

Kate is another member of the house to make up the numbers...I am sure that Alex, Adele and Jade feel that way. Alex would probably not be able to say why he is not keen on Kate, he isn't erudite enough. Essentially describing Kate's personality involves describing what she lacks. That is why she won't win and will go well before the end.

I am starting to warm to Alex (although I still prefer Kate and want her to win). Wouldn't mind if Alex came second. However, when I remember things like that I start to have doubts....how can you prefer jade to kate? I know kate and alex haven't got on since the first week but still...

Well before the end? Day 43 is the earliest she could be out, and that's getting pretty close to the end in anyones book. Do ya think you'd get past week one with you're poor personality?

All she did for Sophie, was ask a question, pass on the answer, then left Sophie to fend for herself, I didn't see any "championing" from Kate. Kate - "I don't want to get involved, it's between you and them, i don't want to be in the middle".

Judging by the way things have changed this week, i would say that it would be major shock if she was not there at the end. I personally don't think she should be, but that's only my opinion.
