quote from Epicurus - actually I am still at school

..... reading Greek Philosophy I presume?........

"Epicurus is one of the major philosophers in the Hellenistic period, the three centuries following the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE (and of Aristotle in 322 BCE). Epicurus developed an unsparingly materialistic metaphysics, empiricist epistemology, and hedonistic ethics."

Example One:

Adele is talking to jade about the emotional effect that listening to music in the Big Brother garden had created; it was the first occasion to hear some music for several weeks. Adele said that some of the songs reminded her of incidents in her life; at this point Kate walked up and Adeled asked if she felt the same way. Kate's reply was:

"When the music was playing it was like, and when it stopped it was really."

That is word for word. Would anyone like to try to translate from Kate's retarded speech into English.

The producers favour Kate, and the only way to show her in a good light is not to show her at all.
”

That makes sense.......

Dear, dear Epi,

You have pointedly 'ridiculed' Kate because she has a home counties, upper working class, high incomed background which - and I paraphrase - you likened to the 'yuppies' of the eighties.

You are so jealous of Kate, it's embarrasing.

Perhaps if she were somewhere up North, breeding whippets and eating black pudding on a daily basis, you might find her more agreeable.

Sorry to stereotype, but I've learnt from you.....
”

I am from "oop north" do breed whippets and eat black pudding on a regular basis! I strongly take offence at being any way associated with Epi!!!! We northerners would never be as condicending as that!!! p.s I love Kate - which is weird cos i'm a gay man!!!

I like Kate, she's sweet and inoffensive. Looks-wise she's obviously a bit of a stunner (can I say that - I am also a 22 year old girl!?).

However, I think if Kate won, it would be like Craig's victory. Kate and Craig are likeable and friendly enough but with no real edge to them.

Alex would be a far more interesting winner. He's caused controversy but survived, and at the same time has proved himself to be sweet and funny. I don't think he'd change himself for anyone and I really admire that.

[b]Some of the questions posed as part of the recent task were dificult, (how many trees???), and some were easy, (how many mirrors?.....Kate does spend a lot of time looking at her reflection), but by far the easiest was to name the housemates in alphabetical order. It is the sort of question put to an seven-year-old to test his or her knowledge of the alphabet. Kate failed, meaning five housemates spent another unnecessary week on the poor side,

She didn't have to gamble her place for the rest of them really. I think it was bloody good of her to have a try. Not many people would gamble their place after spending 3 weeks in poverty. If you don't like her just say so instead of looking for excuses.

She only gambled her place because she didn't want to spend a week with Tim pawing at her. Can't say I blame her.

POVERTY!!!!

What a lot of b*ll*cks ... they have plenty to eat (lots of it) and a heck of a variety. The poor underprivilidged dears to have to spend a few weeks off the booze (oh, apart from the occasions BB treated them).

It's called the poor side for sure but it ain't purgatory by far. living on their rations is no big deal at all. Learn to live to eat not eat to live and you are half way there.

As to not having to gamble --- hahahaha, yes, right. Good tactic that would have been ... a sure way to get nominated (only one more would have spared Adele the ordeal) and a surer way of losing cred with the voters. Kate HAD to try the challenge ... it is a game and she is there to win.

Kate accepted the challenge for the reasons you state, knowing that she would fail. She cares about no-one but herself.

She said herself that if Johny had answered his question (got to the rich side) she wouldn't have attempted to go for the challenge

i cant get over some of the comments people say about others! none of you know this girl at all, yet you sit here and have slagged her for how you have preceived her to be on a TV show.

it also seems a bit weird that you are all slagging her for slagging other people - double standars spring to mind!

I think you are missing the point of the audience participation in Big Borhter. The point is that we are supposed to evict the character on the show that annoys us. Kate annoys everyone who is over the age of ten, intellectually.

I love a bit of black pudding me.
Best thing the Northerners ever invented.
Mushy Peas are nice.
You Northerners should really get into Eel Pies though, you don't know what you are missing.
Kate annoys me intensely.
