Amazing 3G and I-Mode tarriffs on o2
Amazing 3G and I-Mode tarriffs on o2 - Considerably better than 3:
(18 month) Inclusive any network minutes Inclusive texts Inclusive browsing allowance Monthly rental Talker 1000 150 1MB £35 Texter 750 750 Tariffs are only online. I think you can even call 0870 and 0845 numbers with the minutes. Bargain. |

So 'pants' the emergency services rely on it..... think about that next time you need police, paramedics etc!
02 have by far the strongest 3G signal in my area at present. |

No, emergency services do not rely on o2's GSM network - o2 set a completely new network up for them, called a TETRA network.
Consumer mobile phones have nothing to do with a TETRA network - completely different base stations, phone masts and equipment. The TETRA network is run by a different company called o2 Airwaves - nothing to do with o2-UK Therefore, I standby my comment that o2 is a pants network and the next time I phone for an ambulance/fire engine/whatever, I won't bare o2 a single thought

I think you can even call 0870 and 0845 numbers with the minutes. Bargain. You can sign up for 12 months (like I did) or 18 months as mentioned above. On my 12 months contract I have 1,000 any time any network minutes and 200 text messages for the first 6 months and then 500 any time any network messages and 100 text messages for the remaining 6 months. This is still £35 per month. This tarrif is meant to be for I mode phones and 3G phones only, but they currently have a short term managers offer on in the O2 stores where you can get a free K750i on this tarrif too, but be quick as it really is a limited offer for the K750i on this tarrif. I believe the 18 month tarrif is also subject to the 6 months deal. After 6 months the 1,000 minutes should become 500 minutes and the texts down to 100. Still a good price though. This is because they apply a double minutes and texts offer for the first 6 months on all tarrifs above their 200 tarrif. (or you can opt for other offers instead, but the double is the best one) |

![]() A UK call centre with people that know what you are talking about, a decent tarrif, quick set up and the network's not let me down so far while on their network or using it via Three. They also have won some award for their network recently, but I cannot currently find details for this. On top of that, with my new contract I received a promise (in writing) that at the end of my 12 months with them they gaurantee me a free phone upgrade and at least as good a deal as new customers are getting when joining the network. Sounds good to me. Just curiously, why do you think O2 are pants? |

O2 are becoming the biggest provider in this country for a reason. They are obviously doing something right!

I think O2 are fine, no network issues and customer service answer the calls quickly and are a UK based call centre. I admit this is my first week with them, but so far so good.

I am sure Lee18xx does have his reasons. However he is one customer out of over 15million. As such it is unfair to say the whole network is pants. Yes, granted the service he recieved might have been.
The network infastrucutre itself is far from pants, it is very robust. I dont work for o2 as such, in my job i get to liase with all the different network providers, as such i get to see problems from all sides (though more so for o2 as these are one of the clients). O2 growth has been phoenonminal over the last 6 months. The service is getting better and better all the time - espically the customer service side. |

As for blackspots, I would expect any network to have areas they don't cover. |

Could you do so please? And if O2 was 'pants' then no matter how many free sims they gave away that wouldn't be enough reason for people to use them. If I was a PAYG user and could have a 'pants' network's simcard for free or a decent network's simcard for £10 I know that I'd fork out a one of payment to own that decent network's simcard as it would benefit me in the long run. Free simcards will only get new connections who would then more than likely leave if the network was 'pants'. Having a decent network and tarrif options means the customers stay. |

![]() I have no experience of Orange for many years, since they went down hill a long time back. As for blackspots, I would expect any network to have areas they don't cover. ho humRe orange customer service - well, i was spoilt at t-mobile so it's never seemed amazingly good anyway, however any queries get sorted out without too much fighting/pushing, and range of tariffs is good too... as for blackspots - of course, thats normal for radio signals. however considering the high number of o2 cells here they have an equally high of blackspots, and in odd places too |
