I just saw Roberta Taylor in an episode of Inspector Morse, and I think she is an OK actress, but as for bringing her back to Eastenders, I think that has to be a big NO NO. It is a completely different Eastenders now to when she was in it, unless you folks out there know different

Well as Central TV said on their ITV50 show, the original was the best, the new one just wasn't quite right.. or as Jane Rossington said on the show itself...

I was absolutely amazed when they said they were going to bring it back but it soon became apparent that it wasn’t quite the show that I remembered…and I certainly don’t think it was the show that the audience remembered – it was a very different show. And I think they were just – they wanted to make a hotel soap – they saw that gave them all sorts of possibilities and they thought “Why not use the name Crossroads? – Pick up the audience that is still talking about it”…But of course it was nothing like the original.

Although I'm only 26 having watched the 1980s again on UK Gold and seen quite a bit of the 1970s through the tapes that were released in the 1980s/90s I think its knocked far more than it should be. The original has some good writing and not one wobbly set!

Rare on TV today.. it was a family soap and I think thats why people knocked it because at 5.15 or 6pm it couldn't be as graphic as Brookside. But there is room for all kinds of soaps as there was room for Crossroads.
