i am confused

i get how pat knows johnny, but how does peggy know him? i mean, pat and peggy didnt know eachother years ago did they??

Jonny was a boxer and so was peggys hubby, i believe they use to fight and and some how pegys hubby ended up working for jonny!

huumm this baffles me to. Peggy and the mitchells only moved into albert square or indeed walford in the 90s and Johnny had been there in his child hood (the 50s i think). So how do they know each other?

because peggys husband was a boxer, johnny who was also a boxer used to treat peggys husband badly, peggy's husband then used to come home and slap peggy/grant and phil around........in the eastend it was all going on.

I suppose at a stretch it could have been a boxing club in the EastEnd because they were from the there anyway just not Walford. Pretty much from the first week Johnny arrived it was established that Johnny knew of the Mitchels because he took an interest in Billy. I'm convinced they were going to do a paternity story with Billy being Johnny's son, which would have given Billy a lot more to do and would have given us the chance to see HIS family and not just Peggy et al. But alas that doesn't look likely.

While I do like when they do give new characters a bit of a past thats connected with the square (Mo and Pat is pretty cool IMHO) this rubbish of everyone who ever graced the show having some sort of connection with him is ridiculous. The Johnny/Mitchel connection is pointless. It hasn't given us any sort of decent stories and the Peggy/Johnny rivalary for the Vic would be far more interesting to see played out were they unfamiliar with each other.

They met each other at Bible class so Johnny knew her in a Biblical sense.

What doesn't make sense is Johnny saying the other day that he hates the Mitchells, yet he employs Billy. It's not as if Billy has any great talents so he is obviously doing it out of 'kindness'. That does make me wonder if there was going to be more to it (Johnny being his dad) originally, but that has been shelved because Billy Murray is leaving.

There have also been hints that Peggy and Jonny may have had an affair at one point also hints that he was closer to the mitchells than the abouve (Eg Being Billys dad, Phils dad maybe thats why he didn't want him in the square)
