well bill is having extra lessons isn't he?

that old dear on ITT yesterday (was it yesterday?) was talking about being his 'guru'. i doubt she's giving advice on anything else.

(and when i read that quote above, the only celebrity it sounded like was bill, which is doulbe amusing if that's the case. could be wrong of course)

'Dancing' star slams 'cheat' Zoe Ball
Saturday, November 12 2005, 09:33 GMT -- by Daniel Kilkelly

Zoe Ball has been accused of cheating by one of her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.'

Hmmmm ... I just wonder who would be spiteful enough to do this to a fellow 'dancer' who's been attracting a lot of praise for her performances? It doesn't really seem like a very 'male' thing to do .. now let's see .. how many female celebrities are left in the competition???

It could be one of the female professionals but it's very hard to imagine sweeties like Izabella and the others saying something like that.

Also, I've met a fair share of men in my time who are also willing to stick the knife in, not just women.

It may all be made-up tabloid sensationalism, as was some of the earlier SCD gossip.

I think if it is true then she should be made to stop - if she is good enough to win naturally then she deserves the bonus of furthering her career but to go out and seek it like that just smacks of desperation!!

I agree with ~V~, it sounds like something Bill would say. You saw him two weeks ago, he got some bad comments off the judges and he went totally balistic, it was completely unnecessary, other couples take criticism so I don't see why he can't. Zoe is clearly better than him so I can imagine him saying cruel things to belittle her and make himself seem better. Its a shame, I started off liking Bill, but he's really gone down in my estimations. Go Zoe!!

I'm a complete ignoramus when it comes to dancing but my Mum, who used to dance when she was younger, said she thinks taking extra lessons from someone other than Ian could have a detrimental effect on Zoe's performance with him.

Bill is a newsreader "sneaky" isn't something that would be in the vocab imo. Could it be made up? that all publicity is good publicity and it worked tonight.

Ian's website mentions the story about Zoe getting extra tuition here .

Most have had extra lessons at some point. I remember Anton, after he was knocked out last year, helping some couples with extra tuition for some of the ballroom dances. I can't see any problem with someone getting extra lessons, to me it shows they're taking it seriously and doing everything they can to get better - it's not something to get spiteful about, it's something IMHO to praise.

Patsy and Zoe seem very supportive of one another, as for male and bitchy these are ballroom dancers people!!!!

It sounds like something Brendan 'no, i'm not at all bitter' Cole would say.

Its also a known fact Erin Boag is very competitive............

Whether Zoe is or is not having additional lessons, how is this in any way different to Bill's extra tuition, or Denise having ballet lessons last year at Arlene's behest? Arlene has also made the same suggestion (ballet lessons) to Darren, so will he be similarly vilified if he has these extra lessons?
Its a competition to learn how to dance. She's learning how to dance. Where's the problem? She's learned the right steps in the right order & with a bit of finesse. Some of the previous contestants might have considered this strategy as a game-plan rather than relying on the "I'm the village idiot with two left feet, kids, job and a myriad of commitments that the others haven't got and i just can't do it wah wah wah stampy-feet-pet-lip" tantrum!

Frankly, Zoe's getting on my nerves because it's so obvious that she's DESPERATE to win. Her attitude reminds me very much of Denise Lewis last year. Both of them were wimps when it came to the slightest form of criticism and Denise WAS and Zoe IS all over Ian like a bad rash - ugh!! After their foxtrot, Zoe not only wrapped her arms round Ian, she wrapped a leg round his waist too!! A bit much! Yeah, Ian's gorgeous, there's no doubt, but you're a married woman, Zoe and you don't want to GO THERE AGAIN, do you, love...??

Desperate to win? Why do you say that? What exactly gives you that impression? Why is she a wimp? I don't think she's said or done anything to indicate any of those things.

She'd like to win. All the celebs would like to win, and they are kidding themselves if they say otherwise. Who wouldn't want to win? You don't enter a competition with the intention of losing.

And as far as I can work out, Ian is a very tactile person and Zoe (and Denise) responds to that. What's wrong with that? I think it shows how great their chemistry is.

I know these comments are your opinion and I respect that, but would you like to give some examples of behaviour or comments that make you feel so bitter towards one of the most talented couples in the competition.

I agree entirely. Dont take a swipe at someone just because you dont like them. Zoe is working really hard. Ian is a really nice person and there is chemistry between them. I think that any of them are bound to create a bond with their pro. otherwise they are going nowhere. Fiona was an example of that. If we are to believe the press (and frankly I am sceptical) they say Patsy is having a problem there, maybe she did at first but it looks much better now.
