Never. It's set in the 60's and always will be so it'll be 1969 - where it has been for about 6 years - forever!
They should go backwards and forwards every year! lol! 69 to 63 (the year it was when Nick and Kate arrived) and back again.
Obviously when they started over 10 years ago they didn't know they'd still be GOING over 10 years later, so presumably at the beginning they went forward a year a series.
What amuses me about it is the music. When it started they only played songs from that particular year. Well ... they can't forever play music from 1969 so they play anything 60's now, and sometimes they play songs that came out in the early 70's!

Maybe they have reached the 1970s, just because it was set in 1963 when it started doesnt mean it cant move onto the 1970s.
the producers said they dont want heartbeat to move into the 70's coz thats not what the show is about. it's going to be in the 60'a for its entire run if the producers dont change their mind. i read it in the tv times sometime last year
How stupid that it never carried on going into the 70s. I was really looking forwards to seeing it progress into the 70s and maybe the 80s if it lasted so long. This was all when I was younger however and when I was still interested in the show. I probably haven't watched in 5 years now....probably since the time they actually stopped going forward in time too....maybe it's not a coincidence....
