Because Jack & Diane are going on holiday. How long are they going for though? They're not millionaires, they probably can't afford anything over 3 weeks.

He said last night 30 days so they may well miss it and aslo he booked it very very late so will get it cheaper

But that's later on, the current spoilers only say Kathy is coming home with Seth so they can celebrate his birthday. So something must happen in the meantime!
