HELP: Virgin Mobile Siemans A60 not charging (guarantee question)
Brekkie

Hi.

I bought a Virgin Mobile Siemans A60 from Tescos in January, and now it won't charge up. The phone worked fine until the last bit of battery finally gave in, so I suspect it's either the charger or battery that at's fault!

I contacted Virgin, who suggested charging it for 15 hrs, takign out the battery and replacing it, then charging it again for 15 hrs, but this had no affect, so something needs replacing.

It's got a one-year guarantee, but I'm having trouble getting through to Virgin to find out who to send it too! Their website seems to be down now, and when you use their e-mail service you seem to keep getting general replies telling you to phone the helpline!

Anyone else had this problem (with the phone!). It's so annoying because it could be something as simple as the fuse in the charger, but as the plugs sealed you can't check it!

Anyway, if anyone can offer any helpful advice, I'd be greatful.

Thanks in advance, Brekkie Boy.

tesco are normally really good and may let you return it through them, my sister had a phone from there that broke and they gave her a full refund on it, although she hadnt had it quite as long as you but it was at least 6 months!

I went to Tescos first and they said they'll only exchange in the first 28 days, then it's up to the manufacturer.

Anyway, finally got in touch with Virgin today after a number of attempts over the weekend (admitedly, I won't hold for too long - but it's the first time I've had problems getting through to them), and they are sending out a replacement phone and battery tomorrow (sometime between 8am and 6pm - how precise of them!) but not a charger, even though I'm convinced that is the problem!

Virgin seem to do a good job with Customer Services, lets hope it resolves the problem. Only problem as you say is getting through to them! But its worth the wait

OK - I'm pretty pissed off with my phone right now!

Virgin have been great. I rang them up convinced my charger was broke, but they were convinced it was the phone/battery, so sent me a new phone/battery the next day.

I didn't check the phone and put it straight onto charge, and then fully charged the phone worked fine - until I went to charge it again.

Deducing the phone must have been charged when it arrived, I rang back Virgin and told them it must be the charger that was broke, and they sent out a new charger.

However, now with new charger, new phone and new battery - it's not charging up at all!

I've checked the obvious (power points, cable in right way etc.) and now completly stumped! In the book it says temperature may affect it, but it should be OK between 5C and 40C.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Call them back up and explain, and they should either refund you the same amount you paid for the phone or replace it for another phone is you desire for the same price.

Well, I suspect they've sent me out a dud-charger!

Basically though I've had the same problem with two different phones and two different chargers!
