Having heard from our dear poster 'Chelle (via facebook) that she couldn't find our "James thread" anywhere - I thought I would try to resurrect it - hope one and all are well and looking forward to the new series of SCD - although won't be anything like the same without Arlene - lets hope the audience DO give Alesha a chance, she can't be held to blame for the BBC making a bugger of things lol

Hello there! Lovely to see this thread still up and running. Hi Trish - congrats on your new little granddaughter Sophie Elizabeth. Hope you're enjoying her to bits. My only grandchild is in Singapore now, so going there in November to see him.

Hello everyone!!! It's been a while since I've communicated with any one of you but nevertheless I've never forgotten you all and always promised myself that when I had the time I would get back in touch again!
As you may already know, I'm in the Philippines now where I have been for the past nine months!! Recently I became a dual citizen so this country is now as much of a home to me as England is! Mama Chelle and I came here at first to spend some time with Nana Chelle who wasn't very well (fortunately she's doing ok now.) Then we decided that we should make a start on building our holiday home, hence the long stay. We've only been building the first floor and part of the second floor; we would finish the second floor and the proposed third floor in the future. There should be some room to practice dancing, if only a certain someone would be available to tutor and then cook for us! I will upload loads of pics when I get back to England as I don't have a computer, the equipment nor the time to do it here! I've also been very busy helping out at our family store, a mini grocers, which is mostly open 7 days a week!
Got to go now! Hope all of you are well!

Just to let you know OH is doing well. He had a major op in July just days after my BIL had a kidney and pancreas transplant so for a bit things were a little stressed!
The aliens failed to find OH's brain but this time didn't kiss him better just stitched which isn't that brill on the head so he's trapsing back and forth to the nurses again. BIL is doing really well. He is back at home but not at work (he was being made redundant anyway) and only has to visit the hospital once a week.
If anyone is free on Wednesday 16th September James is in Nottingham for their food show. He's doing demos. From what I can gather it's a free event but not too sure if you need tickets for the demos ....... and as yet can't find any info out!
Really hoping to go as I decided that I couldn't afford the Summer show this year and the Christmas one I'm still debating on!
In two minds about Strictly this year. I guess I'll have to see how it goes!

Aw Ali - what a few months u have had - glad to hear both are on the mend. I have applied for strictly so we'll see whether or not I am lucky this year - had no joy in any of the other years when they have done a "draw" would love to go to Nottingham - but alas transport is an issue for me at the moment. Might try for the Good Food Show near Christmas - not too sure yet take care xx

Had to laugh though as when I got there I found out I got two tickets for the demo so OH had no choice but to go

Anyway he enjoyed himself and had a good laugh at the jokes. James did a couple of new dishes including a lovely crust for lamb which I'll try - I presume the recipe must be in his new book!
