I have been reading about how Corrie made Adam older to fit in with a storyline why on earth did they do this? are we really expected to believe this is real life?

They did the same with Mike's eldest son...oops I mean second eldest son (now that Danny is Mike's) Mark.

And Ian on EE had his age raised by a year on EE.

Really I thought Ian and Sharon were both 16 when EE started?

lol Trixie re your first post.

But Jo I assume you didn't even realise until you read about it?

I didn't realise either until it was mentioned on this board when he returned a while back with a different head, I don't keep track of exactly how old characters are. Does any viewer know how old Gail, or David, or anyonelse is, without checking?

If we don't have issues with characters returning with different heads, why worry about a 2 year age difference?

Ian celebrated his 18th birthday in 1988 and then his 21st birthday in 1990, thus he got an extra year added on to his age...According to the 10th anniversary book they did it because they wanted him to be slightly older than he was when he discovered Cindy and Wicksy's affair. I always thought that was a lame reason because IMO it didn't matter whether Ian was 20 or 21 when he went through that particular storyline lol.

Im sure Adam is meant to be the right age.

Born: 1988, Newcastle, so hes like 17, and hes meant to be 17...

They also changed Rosie's so that she would be the same age as Chesney and in the same year as him.

They gave Lucy Beale new coloured eyes...

We could argue about these things for ages, but it's better to leave and enjoy the show. Home and Away and Neighbours are the worst at altering ages to fit a storyline.
