Why in gods name would you consider buying a car from halfords or Kwik Fit??? they dont sell cars O2 supply phones hal;fords and kwick fit dont sell cars

You frist port of call should be the supplier - they shuld arrange things. I didnt know what I was doing there and would as most people would asume the supplier was the one at fault. I would still use them as fist point of contact but am alot more wise who where to after that.

In an ideal world everyone would go back to their supplier. The supplier would respond to the issue in a timely manner and everyone would be happy.

Unfortunately as alot early 3 customers will have encountered they were dealing with people on the other side of the world with no idea of how to sort out billing or technical issue, let alone a handset problem.

It's not a question of who is responsible. Its resolving the issue in the most effective manner. Unfortunately no amount of phone calls or shouting and bawling will cut through bureaucracy.

Eventually they will listen however it's not going to help anyones plight today.

Noone should ever shout and get agressive with soemone who is only trying to do a job. You cna vent fustration and be forcefull. Never shout etc as it will not make anyone want to help you.

I have had experances in the past where people have had a go at me for answering the phone, I had never delt with the problem before or had any information they would not let me go and find out anyh ting to help them.. in the end I said

"Look, I am here to help - you shouting at me does not make me want to help you - it makes me want to put down the phone but I wont, I will try and sort out your probelm but you need to give me a change - if you act like this to everyone you speak to you will never get anything sorted and you will get a letter from us asking you not to call again - we will only reply to your requests in writing which will take longer." We did manager to sort the issue out which was trivial - but because of the way he was talking to my staff he did not get very far.

Totally agree. Shouting doesn't resolve anything. but unfortunately its a regular thing.

I believe 3 has improved radically in terms of service, handsets and value since the early days, however i have heard that the quality of CS is still an issue.

From my experience of early one2one the best deals seem to be on new networks. Purely because they fight harder for the business.

For the good deals there is a price to pay. However I suppose it all depends on how tolerant you are.

I think with 3 as long as you don't scrimp on the handset, there would be little reason to call customer service. This way they can be avoided.

Sounds pretty good to me, only thing is, I've heard bad things about 3 and their signal being crap. I said that to the guy on the phone and he said they've got new partnerships that if you run out of 3G signal then they put you onto one of the other networks "narrowband" so that you can still send and receieve calls, etc

I'm in two minds bout what to do ”

I have just taken out a 3 phone on contract, I set out to get Virgin but was swayed when i saw what 3 was offering,
i was very doubtful about going over to 3 but all i can say is I'm very surprised with the network, Its the best i,ve used, i have a constant full signal here where on virgin it was somtimes a bit naff,I've heard that the 'bombay' customer services is not much good but if they improve like the network has, then 3 can become Very big. also browsing the wap on 3 is free unless you download something but all explained clearly before you download. But i would give then a try i have found the 3 system to be excellent and tariff is pretty good too..you have nothing to lose.

Hurrah! I have just ended my 3 contract and I'm so happy! I had two phone's on the contract, mine and my husband's one and they were rubbish for reception. This resulted in my husband losing work left right and centre as he's self employed. Their customer service is rubbish and they make promises they can't keep.
I can't believe that just to cancel the contract I had to talk to three different people and tell them all my reasons for leaving. Then they tried to offer me a new phone to solve all my problems. I told them that a new phone was not going to improve their customer service and I think they eventually got the message.
Only 1 month to wait now and then we are officially 3 free!

i dont like 3 due to past experience and they dont work in quite a lot of european countries. Took my A835 to Germany last year, worked through France, once out of there... No network displayed for the entire week. When i got back, i got rid of it!

This Saturday it'll be 2 years to the day since I first got my Motorola A835. While it was the best handset at the time - Three have come a long way since then.

Not sure why Germany wouldn't work for you, three actually have TWO roaming partners there. (Perhaps they didn't have 2 when you went)

They have had German roaming partners since day one but there are still far too many 3 anomolies, like them having no SMS facilities to Spanish networks!!

As I have stated many times already, 3 is much cheaper because it is'nt similar to the other mobile networks in terms of quality of service and call reliability. You pays your cash and takes your choice. Just like those who opted to buy a Lada in the 80's..... what happened to their 'value for money' car range?

three itself is not much cheaper than the other networks, but the dealers offer better cashback deals, thus making the term of the contract much cheaper. I was paying O2 £30 per month and I'm now paying £30 per month to three. I've not had any problems with my phone (a 6680) and find their network adequate for my needs. I can always make / receive calls and send texts.
With regard to three's quality I am impressed after being on O2 for two years. Call clarity is second to none and I find the feature of being able to check account usage on the handset very useful.

Rob, that's simply not good enough: I'm not suprised you're not a happy bunny. Did you order it on-line or get it from a store?

I joined three only a few months ago and i would not recomend them to anyone! everythings fine for a little bit but as soon as anything starts going wrong thier customer service is abysmal! i have had numerous proeblems with getting a bill date out of them! you cant have your bill going out on the same date every month like you can at 02! it varies a few days here and there which has caused me various fees at my bank! they pretend they have never spoken to you about thing in the past when you know they have so their record keeping is obviously crap! you ar elucky if you can find someone who speaks english when calling up and they have no respect for thier customers! i am now just waiting for my 12month contract to finish before i move on somewhere else!

and btw the omline billing stuff isnt as easy as o2!

Good Luck Mate. As I'm lucky enough to have my Contract direct with Three, if I ever have problem I pop into my Local Superdrug and they put me straight on to Glasgow.

Not the Best Solution, but I have only needed to contact 3 three times in the last year.

the last 3 phone i had was a NEC e616, i had 5 before that which were NEC e313's. I took the e616 back over 6 months ago and told them it was faulty. They tried to blame me for it. But little did they know that i had a "secret weapon"... Technical Knowledge!! So i just blasted them with all this technical stuff and they had no clue what i was talkin about. I "won" that as i left the shop with £64.99 (the price of the phone) and i haven't touched 3 since

That's odd. I've been with Three now for four months and my billing date is always the same.

People are complaining about Threes customer service and I agree it isn't good but unfortunately more and more people are moving their call centres to India. I also have an Orange phone. I got a call from them the other day (I know it was them as they were answering an email I wrote. I couldn't understand a word the bloke was saying (he confirmed he was phoning from India). In the end I told him I was ending the call and although it was 9.00 o'clock at night he wished me 'Good Morning' before I hung up!

3 around my area never has low signal and it also works fantastic abroad in Europe! Not been outside Europe with it yet! 3 Deals are great but i'd check your area for signal! Also some of the range of phones can be quite dodgy but 3 replace them straight away usually < this has only happened to me once over 9 months though!

Recommend a Nokia 6630 or 6680 if on 3, and if you live in a large town or city the network should be ok in general.
