It's out. I saw it in the shops today - it's huge.

The book on amazon

This also contains a CD of sound clips and loads of information of the last 45 years. I'll definitely be getting it soon.

Here's what one reviewer had to say ...

What a fantastic book! Well, to call it a book is missing the point really. It's more an 'experience'. As you'd expect with any official Corrie book it's jam-packed with memories as it gives a house by house account of the last 45 years. What's more, it's written with the same kind of wit as the show with loads of photos of the residents and also of things you don't normally see close up, like Curly's Bettabuys name badge, the Rover's price list and Fred Elliot's passport.

BUT, the icing on the cake is what is slotted in between those entertaining pages - the treasures of the title. A packet of photos of Rita, Bet and hilda on holiday in Majorca in the most fab cossies - and they are real photos! Sarah's baby scan, Betty's handwritten recipe for hotpot - all stained and clearly well used, a Valentine's card from Gail to first hubby Brian, the suicide note of her third! And a strip of passport photos of Roy Cropper that makes him look even scarier than 'Norman Bates with a briefcase!' Oh, and Chesney's poster when Schmeichel was missing! If only the could put that boy between the pages, he's such a sweetie! And loads more. It's a real treasure trove! And they aren't photocopies, they are the real thing and you can hold them in your hands! Briallitn! I had no idea you could do this sort of thing in a book. There should be more books like it.

There's also a cd of sound clips from the show with loads of popular characters and memorable moments including two of my faves - Stan and hilda enjoying champers and a kiss on their second honeymoon and Ken teaching Raquel French! Great stuff - it's like listening to it on the radio. A few more clips would have been nice though - then i could have listened all afternoon! Actually a dvd would have been even better, though i spose you can get dvds separately. I have!

A TIP - keep listening to the very end of the cd for a little added extra!

I've been itching to get my hands on it ever since I heard it was due to be published. And it was worth the wait.Brilliant!

It is. I like the fact that they've added 'extras' like pictures of objects from episodes (nametags, posters, certificates) and the soundtrack is a great idea.

Absolutely!

With the wealth of extra material they have included, I would think this would be seriously tempting for even casual viewers.

I haven't got the book myself yet but I'd bet that they are. The previous two version 35 and 40 years both went in depth on every storyline and I doubt that this would be any different.

I have that one and I would recommend it to anyone. It has everything, quite heavy but is in huge detail of plots, characters, births, marriages, deaths and locations. I read it everyday.
