Nothing from that site has ever come true, not about EE anyway. And they would never kill off Grant, not when hes such a major character, Kate HArwood swore she wouldn't sacrifice characters of stories just for ratings. And i believe her.

And Ross has said how much he loved it there, why would he then want to be killed off?

Well if this is true and Grant is to be killed off, EastEnders would be making the biggest mistake in it's history. I can understand them killing Den off (again), but certainly not Grant. I will never watch the soap again if it's true thats for sure.

I'm not so sure.

Having (bravely I might add) sat through Richard & Judy's interview of Ross earlier this evening, Ross was obviously pleased when he mentioned his new BBC deal which allowed him to Direct. (Let's face it - *that* was the clincher that got Ross back in the first place.)

I can quite see him wanting Grant killed off in order that he can finally put the character behind him and get on with doing different things.

And if they do kill him off - well, they can always bring him back from the dead, can't they?

Well I hope they don't kill Grant off as you've all said it will be Eastenders biggest mistake and Grant could allways come back now and again and if Peggy or Phil or any Mitchell's where having a holidat going to see Grant would be a good way to write them out

In all honesty, I always think it's a mistake to kill anyone off, unless they absolutely have to (or the actor dies, obviously.)

You never know when they might be willing to return, no matter how many years have passed since their character left the screen.

Point in case: Neville Buswell.

I always say, "never say never."

Far better to send them to Manchester or Spain - or even the US.

This is everywhere now. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it does happen. Not one bit.

Shame they didn't kill Phil off. The man looks more and more like an over-ripe tomato every time I see him.

Me neither.

I think we have to ask ourselves 'why' it took him so long to come back, despite numerous requests in the past. Methinks he wants to do other stuff, including working the other side of the camera. Now that the BBC have included that in the deal, he's happy to come back as Grant for a while to help boost the ratings, in return for the rest of the package.

I've just reading this article, from a while back, about our friend Mr K:

http://www.thestage.co.uk/features/feature.php/10091
It has been six years since Ross Kemp kissed Walford goodbye and quite a lot has gone on in the meantime. He says: “People in real life do go back to their old stomping grounds, so why shouldn’t Grant? Why did I say yes? Because the BBC offered me a stonkingly good deal. They have offered me some very advantageous terms, a blinding deal if I say so myself, and they’ve offered me some work directing episodes of Holby City and Casualty, which I really wanted to do. Then they’ve said that they will put a couple of drama projects into development for me and that at least one of them will be green-lit and will go into being a show or series for transmission. You don’t get better than that, do you? I was really interested in going back to EastEnders, given that I spent ten years there. And now, as part of the deal, I want to have my own production company, where I could employ good directors and get things made. And yes, command a set, where I know what is going on and where I can command every aspect of production.”

It seems like Ross Kemp is definitely happy to be back (well, doh).... but he does have a lot in the pipeline with the BBC. I wonder how he would have the time or energy to do these other projects if he remains with Eastenders for long? If he was planning to return to EE on a longterm basis, why hasn't he done this previously? It's been a long time. Seems to me that he was holding out for the best deal. I may be totally wrong of course, but I can't see him going back to being Grant Mitchell for too long. He's moved on and I reckon he's coming back for a while as a stepping stone into the rest of his planned activities.

My opinion. I dunno.
