Sorry to make a seperate thread but the other one is a mess.

Ok just watched Enders, I enjoyed the cliched ridden latter half. But I felt like I was in some weird twilight zone watching Sona, Pauline and Martin.

Maybe Im missing something, because surely Eastenders cant be that bad in terms of inconsistancy but the last episode I watched Pauline said she sent Sonias letter, she found it and posted it. Then on Friday she was helping Martin cover up the fact they saw Rebecca, deleteing messages from the phone etc etc.

Then tonight it starts with Pauline telling Martin he had to tell Sonia, she was insistant. Strange I thought, bu I let it go. Then Martin tells Sonia and explains that he found the letter and sent it and he went into detail about it.

Now did I miss something, how strange. Did they just forget the previous episode?

Pauline probably realised that it was wrong to hide it from Sonia that they had been to the party.

Pauline is a decent person underneath.

Sonia and Martin are very  at the moment. I am no fan of the Mitchells but I am hopefull that they will make the programme more interesting in the next few weeks.

I think it was panic that made them lie to Sonia, and pauline then realising it was wrong to do so, i think she knew as soon as she did. As for Martin saying he posted the letter im guessing he was just protecting his mother.

I just can't stand Sonia anymore, I felt sorry for Martin. Sonia always has to be the victim, well Martin misses THEIR daughter too. Sonia made out it was just her thing, nobody else's.

Polly you are a little confused, pauline told Sonia she opened it by mistake, not that she had posted it.
Martin just took the blame tonight, i guess not wanting his mother and sonia to be at each others throats again

I thought Pauline said she posted it because she found it. Martin left a message on Sonias phone saying his mum found it and sent it. Thats my recollection. Hence the discussion here regarding why Pauline didnt know the address was Rebeccas.

I think the writer forgot all this or he read the wrong version of the script considering there was no acknowledgement of this. Unless of course it comes up in the next episode.

But hey its Enders, they dont worry about consistancy.

I certainly don't feel sorry for Martin. He should never have gone to see Rebecca without Sonia. He is the one who made her tell Margaret who she was. He was the one who insisted that they never see the child again.

No wonder she was upset. The mummy's boy confessed that his mother had gone with him, what a great time he'd had and how wonderful their daughter was. Is he totally insensitive or just pathetic.

As Sonia said tonight, it wouldn't have been that hard to find her at the college and missing the party is another regret she is going to have to live with. He's lucky he only got the water in his face and not the fruit bowl!

Sorry your right, she did post it
Pauline may have come to realise that hiding things from your Husband/wife is never good.
If thats all there is to complain about it hasn't done too bad has it!

Yes it's very weird how Pauline didn't recognise that the address was Rebeccas but why wouldn't she post it anyways? It could have just been a birthday card not a special letter for Rebecca and Pauline would have known it's Rebeccas birthday so maybe she didn't see any harm in sending what she believed to just be a card?

Pauline DID post it.

Thursdays episode:

Martin - Did Sonia find that envelope?

Pauline - What envelope? Oh yeah, it looked like a birthday card so I posted it

Martin - What and you didnt tell her?

Pauline - It was just lying around, I thought she had forgotten it

Martin - You shouldnt of done that mum (rings Sonia ). Whats the point of having a phone if its switched off. Sonia, mum found the envelope lying around so she posted it. So no need to worry.

Yes Pauline didn't tell Sonia she had posted the letter Polly only that she had found it. Not sure what you're getting at but there probably has been a mistake somewhere either that or you're just confused with what Sonia actually does/doesn't know or what she has/hasn't been told. (Same thing obviously).

I know I'm getting confused myself.

Yes but she told Sonia she had found it down the side of the sofa and opened it by mistake, realised what it was and hadn't read it.....

Pauline posted the letter. The initial point I made was that Martin told Sonia, quite adamently, that he posted it. I wasnt sure if it was a plot error because he was happy to tell Sonia that Pauline went with him to the party but didnt tell her that Pauline accidently posted it.

Hope that makes sense.

Yes it does now.
I think he was just covering for his mum, He didn't want to give Sonia an excuse to Have a go at Growler Fowler .
I guess he just thought there was no need to involve Pauline, then Sonia realised she had gone with him

Oh I get your point now but I don't suppose it matters whether he told her Pauline posted the letter or not. He was probably trying to keep his mum out of trouble with Sonia.

Yes possibly just seemed odd when it also had Pauline be really inconsistant with her OTT coverup so Sonia didnt find out and then her complete turn around. Its just odd writing, you would of expected a line like "But mum you're the one who said Sonia shouldnt know". But there wasnt one. Just felt as if the writer has read a different version of the previous episode.

Maybe its just sloppy writing.

TBH i think Pauline has been thinking alot about her marriage to Arthur recently, maybe she is having an attack of the conscience......Who knows, it could have been worse

I think its less sloppy writing and more about the script editor who obviously isnt keeping up.

I wonder what will happen in the next episode. Pauline will probably refer to Dererk being at work, or Arthur being down the allotment, depending on if the writer realises they are no longer in it.

What difference would it have made if Martin had told Sonia that it was his mum who had posted the letter? Personally I'm getting bored of the whole saga, they should just break Martin and Sonia up.

If Martin had not deleted the texts he would have had less of a problem as Sonia would have had less to moan about.
