He may well be right? But how on earth is she supposed to do better if he is coming out with articles like that! I would give up if I were her..you have to hope your partner has confidence in you or you may as well give up.

Mind you...as you know...I do not like Brendan anyway....so I would expect nothing less of him.

At least he said she has a nice personality but I know what you mean one the one hand he's telling the judges off for knocking her confidence and then doing exactly the same thing back.

Brendan does have a point there though I think! Like I said in another thread, Fiona is constantly admitting that she's really bad and doesn't seem to want to improve at all. If that was me hearing the comments from the judges, I'd be a bit upset, but it would make me be more determined to try harder next time. She's not taking it seriously

Don't get me wrong...she should have gone the last two weeks, and she is my least favourite...I just think as a teacher, he should be encouraging her...not blurting about how terrible she is to all and sundry!

What about all the stuff he says about Camilla? I didn't realise that he felt that way still (if you can believe anything you read, although they are his words) - gosh that must be so weird, and what about those rumours about him with this 17 year old dancer - how would she feel about him clearly being still in love with Camilla? And what would Camilla think?

Yes, I know I'm decending into the gutter of tabloid gossip but hey.. we can all have a guilty gossip eh?

And the cynical part of me thinks (and I do adore Brendan in a guilty pleasure kinda way) that he reckons that bad publicity is still publicity and that releasing an article like this will keep the interest up in him and Fiona for Saturday night and for votes.

I'm not sure she doesn't take it seriously. Maybe she just doesn't get it?
I was married to a bloke with two left feet and no sense of rhythm whatsoever. We took dancing classes but I had to give up after a few months. No improvement at all! My toes were still black and blue after every session. He tried (bless him) but it just wasn’t in him. Maybe Fiona is the same? Not all people can learn how to dance, after all. (at least I don’t think they can.)

I am under the impression that he has done this to drum up sympathy for her, and therefore stay in the competition...her crying this week helped, and him and Sara stayed in longer than they should last year because he made her cry...clever plan if it works!

Totally agree! As a teacher myself, I know how important it is to encourage people to achieve their best, whatever their level of ability. I think Fiona would have achieved more if she had been partnered with Ian, or Darren B or Anton (although he loves himself too). All Brendan cares about is Brendan. He knows he will get nowhere on dancing ability so is whipping up controversy. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to be falling for it! Hope he and Fiona go on Saturday.

Ian or Darren B would have toned routine to Fiona's ability. As Karen is doing so well with Bill. Don't think Anton would have been any better than Brendan - think it would only be fair if they went saturday but have feeling it will be poor old Dennis

it just seems every sound clip of Fiona is her moaning about how 'i'm not a dancer' but neither blatantly, is dennis, and he doesn't moan he just gets on with it!

i mean, skills aside, i don't think she has a very good attitude towards it. i'm all for her getting voted off this weekend.

But if she is voted off... we don't get a chance to see if she improves. And that could be fun... what I'd like is for her to stay in until she loves dancing.. cause right now if she's voted off.. she's going to hate dancing all the more.. and that's sad.

I know as much as I almost actively dislike her I can't wait to see her get thrown around the dancefloor again by Brendan. Its pure comedy gold

fair point, but it's down to if you prefer to watch her suffer on and perhaps improve and then lose one of the other couples that are actually more enjoyable to watch. have to admit was developing small zorro-crush and felt a bit sad he left on saturday, whereas ms no-back-bone and bad posture labours on, with only the hope that she'll get better....

well.. "hope" is a big emotion And really, though Jaye & Zorro did do very well.. they weren't exciting. Len summed it up the other day on ITT.. they were just middle ground.. going along nicely, doing very well but they were'nt the exciting ones.. they weren't the brilliant ones.. neither were they Fiona & Brendan and neither have a huge fan following I would have thought. Please don't think I don't appreciate the dancing skills, I do! But drama and excitement excite me.

Well it'll all come out in the wash so to speak. It's a balance - on how bad the dance goes versus all the people that would rather see Fiona or Brendan or both for whatever reason, and whether this desire either for/against is enough to choose to pick up the phone. See the problem is that the energy from the PRO Brendan/Fiona camp goes straight to their phone votes but the energy from the ANTI Fiona/Brendan camp is kinda dissipated amongst the other couples and those couples probably didn't need the votes and so they don't affect the overall score.

Oh and judging by the footage on ITT of them rehearsing - well Fiona is still a bit staggery - and Brendan was swishing around in his bootcut jeans (very feminine but hey he's a ballroom dancer) as usual - I'm so hoping they pull something out of the bag this week!!
