He knows he will get nowhere on dancing ability so is whipping up controversy. Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to be falling for it! Hope he and Fiona go on Saturday.

When mostly everyone on DS criticise Fiona based on her presenting style on her morning show, I have to criticse her now for her performance on SCD.
Given that Fiona cannot dance , it's her attitude that greatly disappoints & anger me...it seems she couldn't care less either & that's just bloody disrespectful & non grata to her partner & the viewers too like me who want to see these celebs showing enthusiasm & giving it all attitude because they want to prove they can do it. In her case it's not so much of spending certain no. of hours to practise, but the commitment you give to produce an acceptable level of quality to the dance which is massively lacking. The fact that she has vehemently accepted she can't dance therefore she won't be able to be even marginally good, then she really should just quit & give someone else to take a pot. She said so herself she didn't want to do it in the first place & was only coerced & pushed to do it by her agent!! So from day one commitment is lacking from her & she should go! Hopefully she gets voted out on Saturday! |

I'm getting completely fed up with her trotting out 'if everyone was good, it wouldn't be the show it was' every time she's interviewed, as though she's contributing to its greatness somehow.
If everyone showed the same amount of effort and commitment as her, the show wouldn't have got past the first series. |

I sincerely hope Fiona's jive is better than mine.Mr Tally is a mean jiver, I watch in awe as he whirls a couple of our friends (who can jive) around. He's tried endlessly to teach me, but just when I'm getting the hang of the rhythm and when to twirl, he ups the difficulty and introduces some fancy moves. By this time I'm either in a heap on the floor or sprawled on the settee.

I'm thinking that Gloria and Dennis will have a good week this week. Both have admitted to looking forward to it this weekend as it is of their "era". I think that will make a big difference.

I am very very glad that Claudia addresses the media issue head on - how many programmes would delve into their own gossip like that and not gloss over it? Fiona and Claudia and Camilla all seemed to think Brendan's answers had been taken out of context and he did VEHEMENTLY deny slating her that badly. Do we trust The Mirror (it sounded a bit Rita Skeeter to me )I am trying to be objective (I really am). But Fiona continued with her line of "I can't dance, you can't expect me to" - and I agree with Camilla that she should take the attitude of "I can dance! I can and I will". And let's face it, Camilla knows about dancing with Brendan more than any of us. Also - I was so shocked that Claudia went straight out and asked Camilla about Brendan saying he still loves her??? I said earlier in this thread that I wanted to know about this and it's like Claudia asked the exact same thing. You gotta wonder WHY Brendan would say such personal things in a forum like the Mirror - knowing full well that all his colleagues on the show will read and know about it - it's so exhibitionist or is he being very naive or want publicity at any cost? He said last year when he went out of the competition that he was glad and felt that thye shouldn't stay past more talented dancers - but is he so desperate to stay in that he'd resort to selling his own deep personal feelings? I dunno - but it's very complex and I wonder about him a bit. Sorry for the long post! I've only just got back in the house from work at the hospital and have so much to say after reading the comments here while I've been out and watching my tape of ITT! |

Argh, that all sounds so exciting! One of the very few reasons I ever get annoyed with living in Scotland (aside from the rain) is that we have Gaelic programming on a Thursday night so no ITT and no way to catch up. What did Camilla say when Claudia asked her that? And why was Fiona crying? I NEED GOSSIP!
I think it's a fair bet that Brendan's comments were taken right out of context. I wouldn't trust the Mirror at all. |

Fiona wrote this in her Mirror column today - what do you think?
"MY Strictly Come Dancing partner Brendan Cole told the Mirror that I'm "the worst dancing partner" he's ever had. Well, he's got a point. The lack of control over my feet is on a par with The Hulk's failure to get a grip on his temper. And, like the green superhero, it's beginning to "make me ANGRY". There's nothing more frustrating than wanting to do something well, and not having the ability to make it that way. Still, judge Arlene Phillips should know that it doesn't make me a bad person. Insulting someone for self-glorification, on the other hand, does." |
