Orange MMS, GPRS settings...
Rhian
28-10-2005
Ok, lets start from the beginning...had my old Virgin number transfered to my new orange sim card yesterday. Everything went ok. I then realised i hadn't had the Orange MMS, GPRS etc. Settings on my phone (i still had virgin ones). So i rung up customer services and they sent me the GPRS settings and some SIM updates. They took me through all that.

The women then passed me over to another women to do my MMS settings. they got sent to me and i saved them and said it would take about 24hours to set up however they normally work straight away.

I sent a picture message straight after i got off the phone and my mate recieved it. They sent me one back after and i coulnd't open it. It said "Download failed. communication error, please check settings" So i can send them but can't recieve them. I left it at that as they said it would take 24hours. Tried again today, they sent me another picture message and the same things comes up.

I have also noticed that the little envelope icon in my inbox is silver (i have an SE K700i) instead of yellow.

Doeds anyone know why this is? I can only seem to send MMS but not receieve them! Should i ring up orange and see that they say?

Many Thanks

go to http://setup.orange.co.uk and follow the instructions. the settings will be sent to your phone after you select what settings you require and input your phone number...

If that doesn't work try using SE's phone setup page...

I know it is for xda's but this site has everything for altering and sorting most mobile problems.

I got my orange settings from here. Just search the forums for them.

Also it is a free site so please donate to it if you feel it has helped you.

I dont work for them but it is just a quality resource.

Try this link

http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7306

It is very long and applies directly to the xda but I believe if you use the input information the way you need it, it would work fine,

My XDA has worked perfectly with these settings for over a year.

Hope this helps.

I don't know if this will be any help, but when I had my K700i and using WAP, there would be certain pages that would display that error (communication error, try again later). It always happened on the same pages (particularly eBay), but never happened on any other phone I've had. I took it to be a prob with the phone.
