just watching X factor on ITV2

when the competion came on they had questions about the acts

Maria has been in Eastenders

Chenais father was on tour with Peter Andre

Andy was a backing singer (i think they said for brenda) so he hasnt always been a bin man

we know the conway sisters have sung for westlife

we know journey south have gigged for a long time

i wonder what the others have done

i thought the Xfactor was about finding talent off the streets

it seems that to get on the X factor you have to have a past in entertainment

Just started a similar thread regarding the Andy and Brenda thing.

However, I will stick up for JS here (as I would) as gigging is not quite the same as having connections as some of the others do. As far as I can make out, they gig like bands in my town do...weddings, engagements, etc. No supporting big bands or anything.

Also, I guess everyone deserves a second chance. However, the Brenda/Andy thing did throw me a bit I must say. And I have never agreed with the Conway sisters being there for the 'Louis' reasons.

Maybe it's just that those with experience in the area are more talented to start with?

well Chenai's father has nothing to do with her personally so you cant really say she has "connections" i doubt chenai's been performing with peter andre as shes only 18.
I agree about the whole Brenda and andy thing though.. and the conway sisters

On tonight's X-Factor programme was Simon's rule change mentioned?

There's another X-Factor show at 12.00midnight on ITV2. It's called, X-Factor - best & worst.

so why make out they are something ordinary

andy a binman hes not lying but his ommision of being in the buiss makes you believe thats all hes ever done

those with connections know how to get into these talent shows they know what novelty will get them seen

Bin man

office worker

housewife

they are not lying when they say they do these things but how long have they been doing them

There were rumours during the auditions, that at least two thirds of the acts that got through to boot camp had been "invited" by the producers.

I do see the point about this but I thought many people knew that Andy had been on a television talent show before also. The producers do like their storylines though and a binman and housewife sound better than proffessional singers. It makes me laugh though when Simon was going on in the first show about Andy representing the working man at home being in a show like X Factor.

was in the weekend papers...

"However, this is not Andy's first brush with fame.

In 2001, he appeared on ITV1 talent show This Is My Moment, hosted by former Spice Girl Mel B....he came 2nd."

Andy has been session singing for 10 years and in 1999 he and his band signed a three-single deal which collapsed"

Unlike some on the current X-Factor, Chico has never pretended to be an amateur. The fact he is so professional is why he is so entertaining.

philip has been on a show in ireland . louis walsh was the judge on it

shayne was oin popstars the rival, for some strange reason pete waterman didnt put him through to the live show although i doubt that bothers shayne after how badly one true voice did!

I still dont see the problem..of course someone with Andy's talent and Brenda too are going to try and get somewhere. They obviously failed hence the X Factor. I have never heard Andy or Brenda claim that they were amateurs.

Yes I heard about Phillip and Louis. Shayne did get through to the last 30 guys on PopStars: The Rivals but was considered too young to get any further and didnt make it to the latter stages.

who knows though, they might have mentioned it in the application process that we dont know about.

also if its a couple of shows or appereancse (spelling is so lame tonight) it might not constitute as being in the bizz

I can remember when I was on Channel 4's 'Operatunity' the assistant Producer saying to me "it's a pity you're not in the Police anymore as we could have made something of that." Then, when the series was broadcast the following year, they made no reference to my performing achievements but instead, went on about my former Police, Modelling and Pro-Wrestling careers. They only used me for the good TV element and kept their footage of my singing down to 2 lines in the 1st programme and 1 line in the 2nd! I was furious!

Anyway, back to the X Factor. Were any of you aware that Brenda is also a very good friend of Voices With Soul? They all live in Luton and I bet VWS know Andy as well. Like I said a few times before in previous threads, once the finalists had been revealed, it wouldn't be long before their past associations with the companies/persons concerned were revealed in some way or another. For example, a number of the finalists' audition stories (voiced over by Kate) didn't ring true as they would have had to have gone through the same process as everyone else to get to the celebrity judges. But of course they didn't 'cos they had already been earmarked by the producers for the live rounds before the auditions had even started! Anyway, keep watching and listening as there are bound to be a few more slip ups on the way!

One more thing, a press release has been prepared for me that kind of exposes the X Factor's true audition process. My co-manager Helen has been able to persuade a few papers to run with it next week, so it will be interesting to see what happens afterwards as a result. If you want to know what it says, check out Bohochick's appreciation thread for me.

Also, these TV Talent Shows are one big con and an insult to those with genuine talent and experience who want to get on in the industry. At my audition, I saw some incredible talent (far superior to the current finalists) being discarded in favour of the good TV element that were ripe for a judges' slating.

Finally, I'm well aware of what really goes on in these things and by understanding the racket, I'm now beating it by doing things myself and going directly to the public with it. By cutting out the middleman (I'm not gonna be used by anyone to line their pockets), I'm cutting out the crap and the red tape!
