The song choices were AWFUL!!!
The Paso songs were so bad I couldn't concentrate on the dancing.

Last year they had Carmen, the Paso song from last weeks professionals and Don't Cry for me Argentina. I don't know what happened this year.

As for Isn't she Lovely for Ian and Zoe, the arrangement was completely wrong.

Traditional music please!

I thought the Prokofiev worked really well for James and Camilla - presumably because it was written to be danced to.

There were some very bizarre Paso music choices tonight - Bill and Karen's football-themed version of "Clementine" springs immediately to mind. Also I thought Zoe and Ian's very nice routine was marred by "Isn't She Lovely?" because it was just too fast. They looked like they were sprinting to keep up.

Yes i remember that, its the only time i've been disapointed with the professional singers, tho Brendan did choose one of the hardest songs!

I also remember Julian and Erins Tango last year to Roxanne, it had me singing for weeks it was really good!

I love Bill and Karens choice for week 2 with do your thing, also had me tapping my foot for the rest of the weekend lol.

The only time i dont think the dancer has picked the right music was with Colin and Erin on saturday, the Paso so didn't fit with "Thriller"

Yes I hated the 'Thriller' piece. It may have cost Colin votes as I was more cringing at the song (good song...just not for that dance) than watching him.

'Do your thing' was brilliant. And I hope someone else gets 'Swing Swing Swing' this year as Denise had it last year and it was also in the finals of 'Strictly Dance Fever'...that song begs to be danced to.

Bill and Karens Love potion number9, was a terrific choice of song. Loved it, loved the singer, loved the choreography to go with it

I so agree, I was really surprised the judges didn't mention it. Most of the music detracted from the dance for me, the pasos suffered most.

I didnt really like the paso doble music at all I think the paso doble should be danced to the right music without lyrics, whenever I go to a competition there is always the same some (the 'official' paso song I suppose) and even if it meant everyone dancing to the same tune I think that would be better and also give everyone a fairer chance

Totally agree with that - in fact, that dance has been my favourite of the series so far. The song choice, the choreography and Bill & Karen's performance were all absolutely spot on.

I love the choices of music for the foxtrot and the paso doble. I thought James/ camilla's music was really dramatic, and I adored Will and hanna's foxtrot to dream a little dream!

here's the music from week 4:
Fiona and Brendan - Ain't That A Kick In The Head - obbie Williams
Colin and Erin - Thriller - Michael Jackson
Will and Hanna - Dream A Little Dream - The Beautiful South
Patsy and Anton - You're Nobody Until Somebody Loves You - Sammy Davis Jnr
Darren and Lilia - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmeralda
Zoe and Ian - Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder
Dennis and Izabela - Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
James and Camilla - Romeo and Juliet
Bill and Karen - Carnival De Paris - Dario G

Hello
Does anyone know if Delta Goodrem and Brian McFaddon covered the song "Always Here" which Brendan and Fiona danced to in week two as the BBC have it listed as Tara McDonald on their listing.
Thanks

The pro dancers choose the music on the sunday after they are told what dance to do, and then they have it checked for royalties. Then they get rehearsing!

Wow!! You lucky thing. How much would I love to be doing that.

But on to the topic....

The music for the paso was atrocious. Truly awful in SO many cases. I'm not a traditionalist or, indeed, a dancer myself but I think the pros are trying too hard to be "different" at the moment.

The viewing public aren't going to remember a reused song from a series or two ago (this doesn't apply to certain dedicated forum members!). Why the pressure to use odd and ill-fitting music? As Len says "it's about the whole package"... get it right guys!!

Colin and Erin's music was terrible this week. I was waiting for the instruments to come in for the whole time...

And Patsy and Anton's was just cringe-worthy. Poor Anton. I agree with the judges. T'was atrocious.

Loved James and Camilla's music (and the routine, and the dress was marvellous)

And Golden Brown was an excellent choice from Bill and Karen, but it was funny how the singer was obviously so conditioned to singing in an American accent, that saying 'last' with an elongated 'a' sound was very difficult for them.

My favourite music choices this week were:

'La Bamba': so much fun! I thought that was a really good choice

'Somebody to Love': a clever choice which I thought fitted very well with a quick waltz

'Golden Brown': absolutely inspired, such a pretty song all about heroin, it was very trippy to see glam peeps waltzing to it. Shame it was my least fave couple, but you can't have everything. Next week I hope to see them dancing the rumba to the Scissor Sisters' version of 'Comfortably Numb'. Keep that drugs theme going, Karen!

I thought that 'Naughty Girl' was actually a good choice for a very sexy samba, but it was a shame that the singer couldn't quite manage the high notes. It sounded a bit painful and strangled. They should have dropped the key a little so she could sing it better.

JAMES and CAMILLA - Jive - Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

ZOE and IAN - Quickstep - Almost Like Being In Love.

BILL and KAREN - Rumba - Ain't No Sunshine

WILL and HANNA - Tango - Pretty Woman.

PATSY and ANTON - Quickstep - Lover, Come Back To Me.

DARREN and LILIA - Jive -Everybody Needs Somebody.

COLIN and ERIN - Foxtrot - New York, New York.

New York New York was by far the best piece of music last night. A perfect finale to the show too.

Pretty Woman was a horrendous Tango choice.

I loved Darren's jive music - it's always a floor filler at the dance nights I go to.
