I wonder if there's pressure on the couples to choose 'songs' rather than 'pieces'?
So far the only instrumental that has stood out is the Prokofiev (sorry, can't spell )

I understand that a song that sticks in the head (for good reasons) is more likely to win votes... but do you think they are asked to make good use of the singers, as it were. Or is this all just custard tactics?

Lilia & Darren's Paso song is amazing, I love it!! I listen to it all the time!! As well ass the song the pro's Jived too! I really want Bill & Karen's cha cha song but due to uni's annoying download rules I haven't been able to get it.

On Friday's ITT everyone agreed Pretty Woman for the Tango was horrendous, awful, just plain bad. Not much of a music expert but I thought they COULD have 'tangoed' the song, but they didn't.

My sister has been very critical of their music all series, but then she does add a new meaning to the phrase tone deaf.

Yes, hated Pretty Woman for the tango. Which probably contributed to Will going out, shame. The lyric is way off beam for what's supposed to be a passionate dance.

James and Camilla had a very naff choice of 'Why do fools fall in love'. Not a jive tune at all, come on guys!! You did the best tango to Mein Herr, BRILLIANT, my dad can't stop watching it!

And the Prokofiev they did was the only good Paso choice for me.

Does anyone know what was the music for the group salsa? I rather liked that.

I agree about Pretty Woman being wrong for the tango -- I think it's got the right rhythm but just feels completely wrong. The music plays a large part in creating the right atmosphere and that particular song completely failed.

Patsy & Anton's tango music was perfect, though.

Going way back into prehistory Bill and Karen did a perfect routine to Love Potion No 9, as Craig said at the time fun and theatrical.

It is a top song! I loved it before the show and was so thrilled they were going to use it

It's "I Like It Like That" by Pete 'El Conde' Rodriquez.

Top song.

And Becks, I agree... custard tactics indeed.

I think the SCD singers should release an album of their versions of the dance songs. I loved Love potion number 9 and would definitely buy it.

I agree. It would be great if they did that - I'd buy it as well. For now I'll happily settle for the Coasters' 70s version of Love Potion Number 9. What I really I want though is the Cha Cha version of Anastacia's "I'm Outta Love", which Julian and Erin danced to in the first week of Series Two.

Having bought the SCD Album I feel that the songs lose some impact as they have been recorded in a studio. By comparison, the live music played on the show has an extra edge to it. The album is still enjoyable though and love practising my Tango to "Roxanne".

It's the singers voice that I love and the tempo, just everything about their version I loved. I've heard the coasters version and unfortunately I wasn't satisfied.
